Might be interesting to put some parking close to the main entrance and run shuttles through the shopping area to the stadium. Then make the three outlets one way in before the game and one way out after the game. Like they do Lindsay street during OU football games.

Had I not seen this I would have said it was science fiction...........

It is true H20 was chosen for a reason he is a clone........![:O]

Yes, those were versions H21 and H22.2. My wife hasn't figured out any differences yet.

more walkable? in ****ing jenks? where on that plan is the walkability "improved" to the ballpark? it is the same damn design as the first...

****ing hell you're right about different lenses... i can't fathom painting cherubs on my bathroom ceiling and calling it high art, so i must be a philistine... different lenses for sure...

In the first example we saw with the little "foam pieces" The baseball stadium is placed a bit further away with some of its parking between it and the rest of the development.

In the "Option A" rendering you can see the entrance to the stadium is moved right up to the small river part, the parking has been moved around to the back, and they have put some buildings along the street that connects it to the rest of the development. There are even some buildings placed along the street on the other side of the creek making that parking lot smaller.

Its a bit closer. The buildings and sidewalks along the street are a more pleasing walk than through a parking lot. Thus I would say its connected better in the second rendering and more walkable.

I go to alot of Drillers games and have no trouble with parking or leaving.....The parking for the most part is West of the ball park.....Lots of ways to get out of there...Most of the time I drive between the barns to 21st......If it moves to Jenks....I will not be attending any games......

I live a little over a mile from Driller's stadium.  I don't have traffic problems.  I can walk.

Option A has the stadium seats facing the setting sun. A gruesome prospect during Oklahoma summers because of the heat and the glare. It also would be facing away from the river which is supposedly the money view. Current stadium has seating facing the northeast. Makes one wonder just how serious they are about a Jenks location.

Can you fix that Artist?[8D]

I think you are looking at it backwards.  I do believe the big purple part is the stands with home plate in the SW corner (prevailing wind direction) and the third base line is running pretty much N/S.  That makes the stands facing the river with their back to the setting sun.

Add a parking ramp and the illusion of an urban area that is "walkable" might be complete.  With that much money on the table, they could make something REALLY neat.

Wouldn't be the first time. I'm left handed too.
Yes, I see that now. I mistook the parking near the river as stands. Carry on.[;)]

You've forgotten that parking garages are invisible to suburbanites. How else do we explain the constant protests that downtown has no parking?

Looking at the site plan in the print edition of the Jenks Journal (it is big enough to read, kind of) the strip of land between the two lakes has a note that reads "preserved for access and future development" and from GoogleEarth this corridor lines up with 106th Street which is I understand already slated for a signalized intersection at Elm (Peoria) and perhaps even more importantly, these improvements are funded (via a Street Bonds issue) and are I understand are, scheduled to be complete in 20-24 months time.

So I do believe they are looking towards more access.... just have to get across the creek.

Another plan shows 106th dead ending into the dam between the two lakes. It looks like all the northern exits are just onto aquarium drive.

Bet you would be amazed at what I can do with a little paint. [8D]
