I'm hoping to win the prize for TN forum member whose power was out the longest.

Mine went out on Sunday evening 12/9, and came back on Tues night, 12/18 at 10:30 PM.

I always knew I was special, but when I realized I was one of the 8,000 out of 250,000 people whose power was still out...I felt REALLY special.

I guess the prize is bragging rights....and...what?...some D-cell batteries?

I'll, ummm... give you some bragging rights.  [}:)]

Not a contest I'd care to be in the running for.  That sucks Ponder!

Oh no no no you don't, mine went out Sunday and back on this past Wednesday afternoon at 3:30PM.  THANK YOU GEORGIA POWER.  And with a generous tip they even came into my apartment and made sure things were right....

I have you beat you by a few hours...Mine went out about 4am on Monday 12/10 and didn't come back on until 1:00 pm on Wednesday 12/19, and that was only after my neighbor begged the crew to hook my weatherhead up as they were leaving...if he hadn't, I'd probably still be in the dark.  To win this, you really need to have had your weatherhead ripped off.

I think "weatherhead" will go down in history as the most annoying Tulsa buzzword of 2007.

I have you all beat!!!  Ours went out on Sunday, 12/9 and came back on around 5pm on Wed, 12/19.  Some of our neighbors were still out until Thurs morning!

My parents are still without power.  So much for the dog and pony show that our queen natzi put on.

Nazi??  Really?  Last I checked, she hadn't called for the extermination of a race of people.  Kind of a stretch.

Why dont' your parents have power?  Because PSO hasn't turned it on?  Did they not get an electrician over to fix their weatherhead?  Neither of those issues can be blamed on the "queen natzi".

She's earned that name, among others, through other actions not related to this.  She isn't the subject of this thread, so for the time being, I'll refrain from refering to our, so called Mayor, at all.

The point of this thread is who's been without power the longest.  I gave my response in my previous post.

My side of the street went out at 4:30 AM Monday 12-10.  Power came back on 9:00 AM Friday 12-14, but my next door neighbor is still out and running a generator at night due to a damaged meter box.  He must be dragging his feet, because other neighbors of mine that had downed meters have been fixed and back on for several days.

The worst place to live for power failures seem to be the Carolinas~ When they loose power it seems to go out for months. I guess they have power lines in remote areas and in the mountains in the western part of the state making it hard to get to and fix.

My neighbor finally got his meter fixed and power restored today at noon, 12-27.  He was out for 17 days.
