Anyone been out shopping the 50% sales and come across LED Christmas tree lights?

I'd love to stock up for next Christmas, but haven't come across any in Tulsa.

I'd like to know, too.  I looked first day of power outtage for the battery mini string ones and had no luck.  Now, I would like to have some for summer tent compound camping.  Then, I thought they might make power outtage camping in den more festive.  

I know, I know.  But it was the first day!  It was kinda fun the first day

You have to buy them before Halloween to get the good ones.  Lowes, for example, place one order for the season and when that's out of stock that's it.

Besides running cool, longer life and using a fraction of the energy of regular lights, their color is very striking and clean.  We had used blue outside for a couple of years but this year replaced them with red when we discovered the blue LED's were making dust on windows fluoresce (which made it more difficult to see out windows).  ...that and red was much easier on the eyes (and doesnt screw up your Circadian Rhythm as much).

"White" (or "cool white") LED's are disappointing if you were hoping on the warm look of incandescent miniatures. The presently available ones come off as a bright purple-blue, but maybe next year you might be seeing "warm white" in Tulsa stores.  If not I'd recommend Amber colored LED's as a substitute for incandescent mini lights.

I called the company (second link) and many of what they have are being discontinued so be aware of this.  Also, they don't have spare bulbs so that would be a waste.

Thanks anyway.  Hopefully we'll be seeing more LEDs in Tulsa.
