Yes it is closed but a Full service Meditrian place will take it's place...  The new owner is loaded with a lot of money so lets see what he can do... I'm pretty sure he was born Iran but I could have mixed that up with Iraq... He lives in well  ___

One of his Places:  Got rated #2 best hot spot in Dallas on weekends...

http://alamirdallas.com/

But it aint going to be Alamir lol but will serve the same type of food and offer Hokua and Belly Dancers on some nights...

The Jazmo's owner has left and is now like buying cars from Texas and being delivered to Tulsa... Wierd but, most of the Arabs in Tulsa are responsible for all the new cars you see in town...

At Alamir Dallas, you must call in weeks in advance to reserve a table in the main room... The building has 3 floors, underground Bar, and the coolest Arab Themed room to eat in the USA...

Well if Tony Roma's and Jazzmo's are any indication, the best way to end up with a small fortune out of that location will be to start with a large fortune.  Best of luck...

Tell them to go to Mary's next time...

Danno, thanks for the 411 on St. Mike's.  I'm one of those who just sort of forgot about the place.  Great food, I liked the atmosphere, but it was hidden on the back of Ranch Acres and about the only time I'd think about it was when I'd buy wine at Ranch Acres or if I thought: "let's go to an out of the way place".

I believe it was somewhat of a beatnik hang-out in it's first incarnation.  I remember my mother would blush when she took us there as kids.  They had some pretty, uh, creative graffiti on the walls in the men's room and it wasn't exactly the sort of thing you'd care for your seven or eight year-old to repeat.

How long before it closed had Mike Lovell sold it?

saying that without a direct entrance from 71st means no one will come is absurd.  If 71st were designed properly there would be very limited access only at signals and no crossovers without a signal. If people want to go there they will. 71st is horrible due to design.  This center is one of the smart ones due to the single access point.

I can't really say for sure. The majority of the time that I worked there (March '04 to April '07), it was owned by a guy named Jeff Killion, and I believed that he aquired it in '94 or '95. My understanding of the previous owners is limited, since the stories I heard from Jeff and those from customers differed slightly. Apparently the person who opened it way back in the early 60's was a young kid and he had it for only about 6 months. Then another person owned it for much of the 60's and part of the 70's, then I don't know who had it. At some point in the late 70's or early 80's there was a fire and I believe the restaurant was closed for awhile, possibly a couple years. For a period it was called "Glen Again," and was the sister restaurant to The Glen in Utica Square. This might have been the period of time in which the Lovell guy purchased it (mid-late 80's). Jeff had it from '94 or '95 until around November '06, then a young married couple bought it and ran it until it closed in August or September. The guy that actually knows the most about the place would probably be the guy who owns the barbershop next door (Continental Barber, I believe), since he has been there for almost 40 years. Stop in for a haircut and I'm sure he'll tell you the whole story.

Original Bourbon St Cafe still on 15th street. 71st store rights were franchised out to the managers of the 81st and Lewis store(which was moved). Not aware of their ownership responsibility or reason for closure?

Bourbon St Cafe has great owners, may need to get some of the old magic(managers) back? How do you feel about it and what needs to be done to put them back on the map?[?] Remember them being great a few years back, so what is lacking. Sorry, live out of town. Just would like some info. Do miss the red beans and rice with sausage, yum.

Last time I was in the 15th store, it said Jazmo's on everything on the inside.

I disagree with the Tucci's statement....Although the waiter I had over the weekend was a bit snobbish and short but the food was great.....

I have always had great service at Tucci's and the food has always been exceptional.  I would say it's definitely in Tulsa's top 10 for date restaurants.

Well, the owner of the old 81st location was offered by a customer, which is an attorney, to move to 71st location. There he would sign as a lease tenant. Then 2 months later, the building was bought by a loacl guy who then raised the rent. Forcing them out.

A lot of people I know like Tuccis, but it seems way over-rated from my experience.  I ordered a Knob Creek there once and the bartender tried to slip me some cheap whiskey.  The waiter assured me that he told the bartender correctly. I had to go inside and call him on it myself(guess what - no Knob at the bar).  Food was nothing special.  Mary's is great- one of my favs! Why would I ever go back to Tuccis?
Also, Ti Amo has fantastic food.  The staff usually seems disorganized, especially the bar, but somehow the food makes it out and its been great every time.
Vote for the two party system!

Oh, the old 'Sushi Train' bit. I've heard from several friends that Sushi Train is actually pretty good, but their sign leaves alot to be desired.
