Personal Avatars

How come some of you have personal avatars?

I don't care for the list we have to choose from here, so how do I go about uploading one from my collection?

We post them on flickr or some other site, then you can set your avatar to that image.

I tried photobucket but they don't seem to have a way to bring it here.

Photobucket is what I use.

Here's the proper script format:

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/*****.gif

Cut and paste your "direct link" code.

Re-size your image to as square as you can or it will "squish".

Or you can borrow one from somewhere else.  Just link to this file:
http://www.btinternet.com/~copson/Warwicks_Flora_Group/honeysuckle.jpg

and this picture appears in your avatar


Though it will be sized down.

* Note: while doing this don't grab a 400K avatar and just let it shrink into the window!  Also, technically it's poor taste to leach someone else's pictures but if their not protected they must not care that much.
