I want to immediately take back something I said without thinking earlier about "Bates bashing Maria".  I was confusing issues and even was thinking of something he had perhaps said in the context of the river vote and Randi Miller "bashing was a bad choice of words in any case". I was picturing one person and thinking of another, saying Maria but thinking Randi and jumbling up the issues. I know, not good, I need to keep better track of who says what etc. I was not happy Maria lost and just spouted off some things in the moment. My apologies to Mr Bates. I should not have said that.

Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

This is actually a silver lining.   Teardown CD4/9 will get so bad, there might actually be a REAL revolt, instead of lame lip-service.  Just gotta wait it out long enough.

I think you are right-on there.  The problem is small and isolated now, but over time will get much worse.

The momentum behind Preserve Midtown happened because it was in the founders back yard. Many people, who also were having McMansions built in their back yard found a sympathetic ear, the only sympathetic ear to the variety of issues created by the infill.

As is so often the case - not until it is staring you in the face - will people do anything. Not until it is right next door, or behind or in front of them.

The people who were so negative in their opposition were amazingly enough: realtors, developers, wanting to build a McMansion or feel they have nothing to be concerned about in their own little bubble.

There were no interviews or pr of the mudslides, the chemical run offs, the flooding, the infrastructure cracks, etc.

So you are absolutely correct - if there is a silver lining - it is that it will get so much worse.

OK tulsasignnazi...

I was impressed that I didn't see any of your signs in the right-of-way.

But how did you get 58 people to vote for you?

SANTA.
