Has anyone heard of Pacsafe products?
Apparently we don't have a store carrying this product in T-town.

Where would you recommend that I check for good carry-on or check luggage?  I am looking for something that won't be too heavy, and is no more than 22" but sturdy enough if it has to be checked in Europe.  The US might let me carry it on, but inter flight in Europe is a different story.

Try Elephant Trunk at 81st and Lewis.  Luggage is one place I won't skimp - you really do get what you pay for.

I have pretty cheap (read: crappy) luggage and haven't had any problems going to, within, or coming back from Europe.

That's not to say that having nicer luggage wouldn't have been nice... but I think you'll be fine.

Where are you going???

Absolute truth in that statement.

Buy $75 luggage sets if you do car trips and occasional flights.  If you have to fly as a part of your profession, top of the line is the only way to go.

We're going to England (Oxford area) for about 10 days, then to Rome for a week, and France (near Paris) for two weeks.

All the guide books talk about pickpockets (Gypsies especially in Italy/France) and some suggested Pacsafe products.  They apparently use some sort of cut proof wires in the straps so they can't pass by and slash your bags.

Been looking online at places like ebags.com, Rick Steves (he has less expensive luggage and tends to push travelling light), and of course the belt wallet for safety.

Will check out what is available locally. Thanks.

Don't carry a wallet in your back pocket, keep anything of value in your hip pockets only after you leave England.  I wouldn't carry a purse, fanny pack, or anything which can be ripped from your body.  Leave your jewelry at home in Tulsa and don't let your luggage out of your site if you are traveling by train once you get to the main continent of Europe.

Gypsies tend to congregate near tourist meccas- Roman Colliseum, Eiffel Tower, etc.  They frequently will use small children to distract you, then next thing you know, they've made off with your wallet.

With all the crime I've been hearing and reading about here in Tulsa, I think I will leave my valuables in the bank vault!

I need to have some kind of handbag for carrying my brand new digi camera.  This stuff sounds good.  I just want to make it hard for the pickpocketing idiots, because if they want something, I have no doubt they will get it!
