The biggest arts festival in the area starts at lunch time this Thursday. I like the festival food, always like walking around looking at the art, but just love hearing all the local bands.

Here is the lineup for each day...81 acts on three separate stages.

http://www.tulsamayfest.org/content.cfm?id=45

My favorites include...Sam and the Stylees on the Fourth and Boston stage on Thursday night at 8pm. Admiral Twin Rock on the Williams Green stage at 9:30pm also on Thursday.

On Friday...Susan Herndon at 6:30 on the Bartlett Square stage, Red Alert at 8pm on Fourth and Boston and Elredge Jackson on the Williams Green stage at 9:30. I will be bouncing back and forth between that stage and seeing Brandon Jenkins at fifth and Main at 9:45.

On Saturday, I will start off listening to Harmonious Monk at 8:15pm at Bartlett Square and then wander over to see the big country act, Joe Diffee at 9pm on the Williams Green.

Sunday morning, Captain James Bridges and Richard Hibbs open the festival at 111 am on the Williams stage. They are a hoot and it is the best time to enjoy Mayfest.

Power is nothing till you use it.

The "Rock" in "Admiral Twin Rock" is a typo. That's the music type.

Ganem performing at the same time as admiral twin might have me jumping back and forth. I know a few others on here have expressed an interest in "Ghosts" as well.

I want to see TJ McFarland on Saturday night. He's cool. http://www.myspace.com/tmcfarland

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering what the schedule was. BTW, my nephew plays sax in Harmonious Monk. It's always fun to see them play, but they usually play at the clubs starting at 10:00 pm, and I'm too old to do the late-night thing anymore.

Hey Artist!  Great work on the Mayfest mural on the Crowne Plaza building!  Keep up the great work!  (And try not to get blown off that scaffold!)

When you're done with that one, you could just keep going down the street.  The TW plant could use some brightening up...and the parking garage at 4th and Main...and...

It was posted after his evening bong session!

My gawd, the wind was awful. I probably looked like a carnival act up there on 2 sets of scaffolding then on top of a step ladder, then reaching over my head trying to hold a large 4 foot sheet of paper against the wall to get my lettering to scale, with a pencil in one hand and the wind blowing up a storm lol...  Thanks for the duck-tape, came in handy keeping the paper to the wall. I can simply free hand flowers and such but lettering I need a template, zeesh I hate lettering lol.

I went to go say high but it looked like only your minions were working.

Yea, after I got some stuff drawn up for them they worked the first half of today on the lower parts. Would have had them paint all of it but they refuse to do the highest stuff. Dang em lol.

You doodled some stuff over on the Crowne Plaza? I'll have to go look at it this afternoon if it's not storming and whatnot.

Did you do it last year as well? I did see it last year and thought it was pretty dang good.

TheArtist

Yep did it last year too. Hopefully they will leave it up this year instead of painting over it. Didnt realize they were scheduled to paint the whole building last year.  I will be out there first thing to draw up some butterflies and get the crew going. Then I will be out the second half to finish the lettering and do final touch ups.

Looking good. I just ran by there about 45 minutes ago and saw you (I assume) up there on the scaffolding behind the protesters.
