West Virginia votes today. I am guessing mostly for Hillary.

Will Obama even get a third of the votes? The Suffolk University poll shows him getting 24%. This state doesn't allow republicans or independents to vote, just real democrats.

If he can't get a fourth of the voters in your own party, maybe he should get out of the race.
Power is nothing till you use it.

If that were true, Hillary would've quit long ago.

1) By implication Obama supporters are not "real democrats,"  which is the double speak that drives people nuts about the Clinton campaign.

2) Obama didn't make the rules or even influence them, though many on Clinton's staff did and her husband has more pull than anyone.  The rules are in place, and she has to play by them.  Even if most "real democrats" want Hillary, most Democratic voters apperently do not.

3) If only "real democrats" want Hillary to be elected, most "quasi democrats" apperently want Obama, and Republicans generally despise Hillary - how is she going to win again?  It's not only "real democrats" who get to vote in elections.

4) Obama has won 11 of 14 closed primaries.  With Hillary eeking out a win in NM and AZ and taking her home state of NY.  So if "real democrats" are the measure you wish to go back, Hillary has already lost by a very wide margin.   Are you sure we only want to count "real democrats" in closed primaries, because they REALLY hurts your cause.

Hell, Hillary is not even a "real" New Yorker.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

I think it is because Obama has not really  campaigned in West Virginia. He only made one appearance in the state. They must be too poor and uneducated for him.

I guess he doesn't want to be President of the UNITED States, just President of SELECTED States.

Come to think of it, he only appeared in Oklahoma to go to rich people's homes and pick up campaign donations. No public appearances at all.

I think too many of us were clinging to religion and guns!
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Also. . .He knew that she had the state sewed up.  She voted for 10 billion dollars in subsidies to the coal industry, and accepted thousands of dollars in lobbies to support it.

Obama didn't stand a chance.

Hillary will do very well in West Virgina.  It will be nice for her to exit the race on an upnote, instead of an embarrassment like North Carolina.

Untrue. Obama voted for the 2005 Bush/Cheney energy bill that gave 2.6 billion dollars in tax credits to energy companies. Hillary voted against it.

When Recycle Michael says real Democrats he means "real" Democrats.  Not Independents and Republicans who some have said have skewed the results in states with open primaries.

Damn it, now I've got that infernal John Denver song going through my head all day.

Thanks for nothing, RM. Way to inadvertently screw your candidate. [;)]

Closed primary = primary where only democrats vote.  CF says Obama won 11 of 14 CLOSED PRIMARIES.

I'm not really sure what you are getting at HT.  Sorry.

Not a New Yorker?  She was born and raised, went to college and/or law school there, started her career there, raised her family there and got elected to the Senate from there.  Lifelong New Yorker and a lifelong Democrat.

On a side note, Hillary lost in her hometown by a blowout.  No, not Little Rock.  No, not New York.  Chicago of course!  A lifelong Cubs fan ya' know?  Actually, I'm just glad they don't have a MLB team in Arkansas or we'd all be really confused.

Chicago: 1947 - 1965
Mass.:  1965 - 1969
Conn.: 1970 - 1973
Arkansas: 1974 - 1992
D.C.: 1992 - 2001 (White House)
D.C.: 2001 - 2008 (Senate residence)

Just trying to figure out when her time was spent in New York.  Grassley (IA Senator) rents office space in my dad's building, the guy is NEVER in town.  The notion that a Senator "lives" in their respective state is a bit of a joke.

As proof of the power of a women's scorn, the Republican candidate she worked for was bad mouthed by Nixon, she later volunteered to help with his impeachment.  Funny how things work out isn't it?

/random tangents.

Wait.  In one argument, you accuse Obama of being the next McGovern and Dukakis... were they not real democrats?

In another argument, you tell us your boyfriend will never vote for Obama... does that make him a "real" democrat?

In another argument, you chide MoveOn.org... are they not "real" democrats?

In another argument, you yearn to leave the Democratic Party so you can vote for a "centrist."

Bill Clinton's constant campaigning in rural areas in North Carolina, West Virginia, etc... will deliver votes for........ John McCain.

I don't remember George H.W. Bush campaigning extensively in every small town in every state for his son...

Please name issues where Obama is to the "left" of Hillary Clinton...

I would argue there's not alot of difference on most issues... and that Obama is actually to the right of HRC on healthcare....

For the woman who grew up in lilly-white Park Ridge, IL to pretend she is somehow Rosie the Riveter while simultaneously branding Obama as "elitist" couldn't be further from the truth...

Can West Virginia with 5 electoral votes, and home of ex-klansman Robert Byrd, be replaced by Nebraska (5) and/or Indiana (11) in the dem column for future presidential elections.... I certainly hope so.

Congratulations to Hillary.  She did as well in West Virginia as Obama did in Idaho, Hawaii, Alaska, and Kansas.

Did anyone else find it odd that Edwards got a full 7% of the vote?  Funny that in a state that was clearly Hillary's, she lost 7% of the vote to a guy who is not even running.
