Dave and Buster's will be building in Broken Arrow

They bought 2.99 acres of land at 71st and 129th in Broken Arrow.  This would put it one mile east of the start of Tulsa's heavy retail corridor and one mile west of a Broken Arrow Wal-Mart/commercial center.  It would be near the new Copland's and Ted's Restaurants as well.

This is kind of exciting for the Tulsa area.  Their stores range in all different sizes.  I am sure more info will be out soon.

FROM THE D&B WEBSITE..

"Each Dave & Buster's offers an impressive selection of high-quality food and beverage items, combined with an extensive array of interactive entertainment attractions such as pocket billiards, shuffleboard, state-of the-art simulators, virtual reality and traditional carnival-style amusements and games of skill. Dave & Buster's emphasizes high levels of guest service in an upscale atmosphere to create casual, yet sophisticated, ideal playing conditions."

Why is this a horrible location?

I know it will be horrible for me, because I live right around the corner - and with D&Bs and QT going in there the traffic is gonna be a nightmare - but - any other reasons?

That would be cuming not coming.

Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

Dave and Buster's is more of a destination location that needs to be part of a larger development (Tulsa Hills, Riverwalk, Downtown, etc) and also some place that is easily accessible. This location will serve BA and very little else because most people don't want to travel that way on 71st. The 71st and mingo/169/garnett area is a real divider that won't be fixed anytime soon.

OK. Out of the places you mentioned, the only place I'd be likely to go to would be Riverwalk. Maybe downtown IF the ballpark is built. D&Bs next to the ballpark would be a hit, a homerun, but just placed downtown by itself - would be much worse than 71st and 129th. I've never been to Tulsa Hills, and highly doubt a D&Bs (or anything, for that matter) would lure me that far out. Actually, I've only been to Ted's once and never to Copeland's, even though it's on my way everywhere I go. Too crowded. I might wait and hour and a half for Maryland Crab Cakes or blue crabs - but not that overpriced junk.

Maybe they'll widen 129th out to the BAX soon. Or maybe 81st - which will soon become the alternative to 71st when all this stuff is up and running.

It is only a mile and a half from 169.  I really don't think it will matter.  This might encourage more things in the area which will build that region up.  Some business has to be the first.  I am just happy Dave and Buster's is coming.

That corridor is on the outstretches of BA and not where city officials want to put their road money. You have to realize that from Garnett to 169 is Tulsa so any road work there has very little priority. The widening of 61st took three different government agencies to get accomplished because it is on this difficult border.

And you're right, downtown would only work if it was part of another development, not part of an island. Next to the ballpark (when built) would be the #1 location in my book.

The reason I mention Tulsa Hills is that it is going to be larger than ANY development in BA and considering this is putting it on the same corner as an already failed restaurant, it's not exactly "happening" and has no plans to do so.

Composer - some business has to be first? This is the forth on that corner and keep in mind the second business on this corner already closed.

T-TownMike

I agree they could have alot better location, but it's still good news for the metro.

Composer

It closed because it was no good.  I talked with people who worked there who did not like it.

There are design plans now to widen 129th from 71st to 81st.

restored2x

I know the hamburger stand closed - has anything else failed there?

Good news on the widening of 129th between 71st and 81st. It would be a tad more difficult to do 129th between 71st and 61st because of Floral Haven, I guess. (Isn't that all in BA?)

Composer

That is all BA.  Broken Arrow is having its entire transportation system looked at by an outside company in order to prioritize road construction.  There is a bond issue coming in December or early next year.

Nothing else has failed over there.  Ted's is doing great and so is Copland's with a QT coming soon.  There is a new office building behind the old hamburger place that is 2/3 leased.  New apts are proposed east of here as well as a Gold's Gym.  Traffic counts are definitely strong.

Thanks for the info update.

Now, I don't mean to sound rude, but why do I care? It's like an adult "fun world" place or what?  Maybe I'm out of the loop, but just looking at their website I don't think I'd drive to BA to play mini-basketball and drink beer.

Sounds like I'm being a jerk (and thanks again for the info), but another chain is coming.  Why should I care beyond just the development news?
