You see, there USED TO BE an inheritance tax... there used to be a budget surplus... there used to be a minimum wage that made more sense and actually could pay a few bills...

Now, we're supposed to make the Bush tax cuts permenant...

First of all, I guess you're not going to respond to any of my other points from earlier.  I guess that's for the best for you.

Secondly, and I repeat, poor people don't create jobs, ever.  It's sounds to me like your extremely jealous of those of us who have been successful for whatever reason, and for that I truly feel sorry for you.  The specter of the "trust fund" baby is nothing more than a red herring that allows you to blame your lack of success on someone else.

I'm glad to know that those who work hard in this life and achieve should be punished by an inheritance tax.  I hope to god Obama runs on a platform like that...  As for a budget surplus, that hasn't existed since Johnson was in office, so both parties bear that burden.  And what kind of underacheiver is happy making minimum wage?  Jobs paying that kind of money are for people without a GED, felons or kids in high school.

The more I hear from Mr. Buffet, the more I like the man.

I like how he can make a stupendous profit and be a decent human being at the same time.  Looking back at the last seven years or so, you'd think the two were mutually exclusive.

He's such a believer in what he preaches that he doesn't even bother to pay more to the government than he has to.  No one is forcing the man to take advantage of the tax system.  He could write a check to the goverment tomorrow for any amount he wants, but will he?  You're a fool if you think so.

It matters not what Michele may have done or did. What matters is the democrats have a fighter in Barack to go after the repiglican lies and slogans. This was not the case in 2000 and 2004. Let the games begin!

Obama seems anxious to drive McCain batty

That's just plain wrong. Buffet pays plenty in taxes and also reduces the deficit through his many interests. Show some respect for the greatest investor of all time.

You are always calling others out for the same stupidity you exhibit. Many must have identified these personal traits of yours to you. You do such a good job passing the insults along....

Wow.  Are you completely blind?  Let me repost his comment since you didn't read it:

"The 400 of us [here] pay a lower part of our income in taxes than our receptionists do, or our cleaning ladies, for that matter. If you're in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent."

If the man thinks he doesn't pay enough taxes, then he can simply write a check to Uncle Sam for what he feels is the appropriate amount.

I didn't say he wasn't paying enough taxes, HE DID, genius.

Yeah, I can't imagine why the idea of redistribution of wealth garners the lable of "Marxist" ideas?  Would you prefer I call her a Trotskyist?

I can't imagine why you're living in such fear of an ideology that's mostly dead and buried.

If I paid less than 18% on the $46mm I earned last year, then I'd become a Democrat too.  Then I could sit around and blame the Republicans for allowing me to pay such a low tax rate, instead of being one of the villified wealthy Repugs.

...or you could pay some flake from Vancouver $10mil to design a few islands in the middle of the Arkansas River.  [:P]

Maybe if the repiglicants had not run up a $13 TRILLION debt you would not have to twist your logic to fit your possible situation.

GW has run up a huge debt, and I voted for him ONCE; for his first term.

I really just want this country to quit spending so much. I don't care if it is a Democrat or Republican that fixes things, but we CANNOT continue on this path.

Well, since the Democrat who's running is advocating universal healthcare, and both candidates are foaming at the mouth to save the world from a crisis that isn't happening, I'd say you're SOL this time around.  Better luck in '12

are you sure that wasn't Condi Rice who said that?

New York, Jun 5 (PTI) Congratulating Barack Obama on becoming the first African-American to lock up the Democratic presidential nomination, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice described his candidature as an "extraordinary expression of inclusiveness".
Rice, who is the highest ranking black official in President Bush's cabinet, also called the development as a landmark for equal rights for the African-American community in the country, after more than two centuries of struggle.

"United States is a country that has overcome many, many, now years, decades, actually a couple of centuries, of trying to make good its principles,"Rice, who has been mentioned as a possible running mate for Republican Presidential candidate John McCain, said.

"And I think that what we're seeing is, an extraordinary expression of the fact that 'we the people' is beginning to mean all of us," she said, referring to the opening line of the US constitution.

Obama secured support of the required number of delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination, after a long-drawn often bitter contest with senator Hillary Clinton.

The 46-year-old Harvard-educated first-time Senator from Illinois will contest Republican McCain in the Presidential election in November, becoming the first black candidate to lead a major party into a campaign for the White House.
