This home was apparantly a designer showcase house a few years ago, but has recently been owned by a religious organization.  It's now up for IRS auction with a minimum bid of $300,000.

Gorgeous, stately mansion across the street from the Kennedy mansion on Country Club Rd.  Incredible views of downtown Tulsa.  Hope that whoever buys it wants to take care of it.

Historic mansion located just north of downtown Tulsa. Residence was built in 1920 and consists of three stories with full basement. Approximate square footage of residence: basement - 2912; first floor - 2912; second floor - 2368; and third floor - 1132. There is an attached meeting area with approximately 4176 square feet of space. There is a two story garage apartment containing approximately 1036 square feet of space on the first floor, and 600 square feet on second floor. There are 4 open porches and an in-ground swimming pool. Wrought iron fencing covers the south and west sides, with stockade fencing covering the north and east. Property is located approximately ½ mile from the soon to be completed BOK Center. This property holds fantastic potential as an executive home or as a bed and breakfast location. Property is appraised by Osage County Assessor's Office at $393,889.00.

Wow.  Call it 15,000 Sq. Ft. of space.  I'd just have NO idea what to do with it all.  I'd like to be able to just wonder around 15K Feet of space in a 1920's house.

Plus the pool and other facilities on the grounds wouldn't be bad.

Standing bid of $5,000.  Nah, lets make it $10,000.  Or I'll trade straight up for my current property.  [;)]

Wow!  We're going to need to drive by that sometime this weekend.  What's the easiest way of getting there?

Thank goodness. Hopefully someone will buy it and fix it up. Went to take pics of some of the large, historic, homes in the area and noticed how that "religious organization" was letting the place go into ruin. There were several small trees growing right up next to the foundation that needed to be cut out before they ruined the foundation and caused a looot of expensive damage. Wasnt something that was planted there, were just trees that had started growing and the lazy, uncaring, jerks who have the place now just werent keeping the place up. Made me mad to see such a great old home ruined by such neglect.

When I saw the topic, I thought you were talking about this.

Didn't know there were houses in Tulsa worth $12M.

Just looked at the map and realized where that is.  Is this one of the Roberts'?

No way. They would take better care of their home than that. Plus they wouldn't live in something that "unkept" inside.

Goodness yes, probably a dozen or so.... however, many may not be "assessed" as being that much. Even wealthy people dont want to have to pay more property taxes than they have to.

Thought it was funny one time when I was doing some artwork in a new home that was just finishing up construction. The assessor must not have been used to being in the higher end homes. I remember him walking around with a bit of an awed and dazed look on his face and mumbling something about not even knowing where to start lol. And the builder and the homeowner arent gonna exactly be eagerly helping the guy out. This wasnt even a truly high end home, this guy would have been completely out of his competency if he went into a real high end home. He wouldnt know a 500 dollar door from a 15,000 dollar one for example.

I was actually referring to the $12M house.  It's just down the street from ORU.

Funny how much I don't know about Tulsa even though I've lived here all my life.

There are are some gorgeous homes around 109th and Sheridan, in a new small neighborhood.  Also drive down Yale between 91st and 101st.  116th and Sheridan has some amazing homes as well.  I would say there are several several homes in the Tulsa area worth well over 10 million but like the guy above said, they know how to avoid paying the high property taxes!

The arial view gives you an idea of just how many mansions like this must have been destroyed to build the IDL.  So sad!
