fb oscars gastropub is open...
they're doing lunch and dinner m-f...
dinner on sat and closed on sun...
open til 11 on weekdays and 2 am on fri and sat...

big bar, minimalist decor, large private party area... clean upscale but not pretentious... kind of upscale pub, which is i guess the point...

20 beers on tap...
and most importantly, marshall's sundown and ipa...

great menu, even for a soft opening...
3 or four seafood entrees, which is always a nice option...
they will have a lighter fare lunch menu, sandwiches, burger and soups...

we had blt salad wedge, tataki tuna app, beer battered green beans, crab fritters, sweet potato fries, 3 chili mac and cheese, teriyaki salmon, kobe beef meatloaf- all were really good and some were excellent (the salad, fritters and green beans were stand-outs)... the meatloaf was an awesome spin on standard comfort food with drunken mushrooms, mashed potatoes and wilted spinach...

service was excellent...
decent crowd for a tues...

definitely going back...

reasonably priced...

so nice to see the dump that was bostons become something great...

good for them...

I saw you there at a table for one...you must have been hungry.

Gotta love any place that serves crab fritters...

When I get back in town, I am heading there...

Joe Hull still own the place?  I'm surprised he consented to the renovations.

Old Hoffbrau, NW corner 18th & Boston directly across from the Mercury Lounge.  Just get to the intersection, you can't miss it, sign's big.

Thanks for the review Bruno, definitely going to go, especially since they have MBC on tap.

Eli Huff is the chef/owner. He's been around town for a while (I know he opened Tsunami downtown and I think he worked with Fusco back in the day).

Good chef and always a nice guy to me. I wish him the best.

+1 on the Marshall beer.

if you like meatloaf, you will like this.  The portion was too much for me to finish.  And try the fried green beans.  I didn't notice the fried pickles but next time.
