Does anyone know what's going on? It looks as if the carpenters are striking.

I called the Carpenters Union and the person who answered the phone said they "know nothing about a work stoppage or anything."

It still could be carpenters, but it's not a Union strike apperently.

There were some workers at TU's stadium renovation the other day along the road with signs too.  Not sure what the deal was as other workers continued on.  Actually, it wasn't clear if they were workers, if it was a labor strike they weren't doing it right.   [:P]

A woman in my office volunteers in a local homeless soup line and says that most of the protestors behind the big signs are homeless folk.

Thank you union workers for providing jobs for the homeless for your protests.
Power is nothing till you use it.

But who's representing the homeless?

I'm glad somebody's doing it. It's better than having those folks out panhandling around downtown. I'd say that's a valuable community service. Kathy Taylor sure hasn't offered them any opportunities to make life better. Queen Kathy has jumped at every opportunity to tax at-risk working families ever closer to the tipping point of homelessness, by nickel and diming the public to death with annual record utility rate increases, assessments, sales taxes, bonds, settlements, etc. That's a fact, Jack-Off.

Kudos for creativity DoubleAA.  If you're going to complain, it may as well be funny.

I'm glad AA has a copy of photoshop, he has posted some priceless ones.

Whoever they are they aren't very smart. A couple of the guys I work with and myself walked down to the coffee shop on Tuesday while the protestors were out there. I could never understand what they were chanting but as we passed by I started chanting "England out of Ireland" over and over again. After about the 10th time they started repeating me and kept it going until after what our coffee and were on the way back to work.

If union labor has to hire people to protest for them, life (and job opportunities) must be pretty darn good!

"Gosh, I don't have time to protest the non-union job-site...too busy working.  Maybe we can find some homeless dudes to fill in...."

CRZ

I noticed some people on strike at TU the other day.  There were only two people holding a sign saying something about labor disputes.  Everyone else seemed to be working though.  I wonder if they are related.

thanks. found out it's nothing to do with the construction project itself, just the carpenters' union protesting the fact that the workers doing the renovation job haven't unionized. interesting...
