What about Does Eat on Cherry Street?  I heard they have the best steaks in Tulsa. Can't believe they'd be better than Mahogany's.

I went to Doe's once.  I thought it was a rip-off.  The novelty of an extra-thick steak wears off when you realize they don't know how to cook one.  The service was pretty crappy as well, they were not overly busy the night we went so there was no excuse.

There are others on here who like Doe's, but IMO, there are other places more deserving of your money in Tulsa.

Agree with the pricing and steak quality. Still, the place has good tamales. Garlic Rose is good also.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Stay away from Doe's!  He had horrible service, from the owner specifically and have never and will never go back.  The steaks are good, but not always, they were great sometimes and not others.  Save your money.

Garlic Rose was very nice last time I was there.

I loved Doe's.   I have also never had a problem with the waitstaff but I definately understand how that can taint a person's view of the place.

They have a pretty reasonably priced steak sandwich for lunch.   Never had a steak sandwich that melted in my mouth before.

Dinners are pricey, but delicious as well.

They will never make it with that pricing...$9 lunch burgers spell FAIL.

That location is always such a good spot. Ha!

I mean, that location and every location on each side (including behind) have housed a failed business.

They had coupons in last week's paper, if you're a coupon kinda person.

Where is this Longhorn?  The old Tony Romas?

Has Up The Creek failed yet?

Cancun is WAY better than El Rio Verde (I know we were not discussing it I just wanted to start a fight)
Doe's steaks are too $$$ for what you get.
Flemming's...pass. Jamil's carry out kicks it's donkey.
Corner Cafe...pleeeeze...sucked and is dirty...pass.
Here are 2 of the best meals in Tulsey Town:
3 Carne Asada tacos @ Cancun w/ beer and salty chips
Delux BunChaGio & Viet. Coffee @ BinLe or RiLe
end of story.

I finally tried the Chicago-style pizzeria near 11th & Pittsburg (former McDonald's) and really liked it.  I can't think of the name off the top of my head.  I'm sure we've discussed it on here before.

Little Chicago.
At lunch, they'll sell pizza by the slice off the buffet for something like $1.80 a piece.  I have a Chicago poster I'm thinking of rolling up and taking to them.

I tried takeout from Kholood's and last weekend - it is the little Medditeranean food/deli in the Shell station on 61st and Yale, at the end of Kingspointe shopping center.

Kholood's folded :(

Never heard of Cancun?  That would probably be because you don't venture north of 71st I'd guess.

[:O]

7th and Lewis.  I haven't been in ages, but if it hasn't changed, great Mexican food in an old DQ building.  Popular among employess of Hillcrest from what I remember.

+1 on Shawkat's and Cancun.

Cancun has good salsa and never lets me down.

I tried Shawkat's Friday night dinner a couple of weeks back.  The menu is a little different; I had some fish that was very good by Okie standards.

I hate to hear that, I liked Zach, but since he was doing it alone, the service was slow.  I never had any qualms about the food quality.

give me a ****ing break dude....el rio verde isn't exactly south of 71st.

Then that means you drive 244 and get off at Utica.  Which means you have no idea of what is in midtown.
