Somebody needs to keep Cindy on chain.

In response to a question about Palin's foreign policy experience (or lack thereof), Cindy offers the following:

"And also remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia."

I guess you forgot about this gem from Michelle Obama.

http://amboytimes.typepad.com/the_amboy_times/2008/02/michelle-obamas.html

Or that she thinks America, apparently all 57 states if you ask Barack, is just "downright mean"

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2008/03/09/michelle-obama-s-mean-america-statement-gets-nearly-free-media-pass

Yep, Cindy McCain has the diarrhea of the mouth.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

His choice of Palin is a pander to the religious right...

Why would anybody be scared of this woman as McCain's VP?..... she has nothing in common with the Hillary Clinton vote...

I think in general, you have to be scared of the fact that she'll be just one heartbeat away from the White House.  That's what Obama's camp will be using in the weeks to come.  She scares me for that reason.  How can that NOT be the 'Quayle Factor'?

No moron, the "Quayle factor" is thinking there are 57 states in the U.S. and that having an opinion about when the human rights for a baby was "above his pay grade." As for what is scary, the fact that you believe Obama has the qualifications to be president. No one in this forum has been able to point to a single legislative accomplishment he has made.
Instead, we hear that Obama is qualified because he is able to inspire 80k plus people to watch him deliver a speech at Invesco. This is absolutely hilarious. If that qualifies someone to be president, then let's get Dan from "Dan's Bake Sale" fame to run.

There were well over 50 contests contests in the democratic primaries.... he simply mispoke.  There were 50 states in the primaries plus:  Puerto Rico, Guam, DC, Dems Abroad, Virgin Islands, American Samoa... People who go through the screening process for Columbia and Harvard know how many states there are, duma$$$....  but keep repeating the same lies over and over...

Barack Obama is intellectually superior to Dan Quayle.... in about every way possible. I've watched him over the course of the past 10 years... can't wait for him to be President of the United States.

The real reason why Republicans lie about as often as their mouths move these days..... is that the thought of going back to a Clinton tax code that might actually enable us to pay our debts, honor social security and secure medicare for generations, scares them silly.

Can't wait for Joe Biden to challenge McCain's VP with this:

"Governor, I served with Hillary Clinton: I know Hillary Clinton; Hillary Clinton is a friend of mine. Governor, you're no Hillary Clinton."

Michelle Obama's speech at the Dem Natl Convention

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=790hG6qBPx0

And I come here as a daughter - raised on the South Side of Chicago by a father who was a blue collar city worker, and a mother who stayed at home with my brother and me. My mother's love has always been a sustaining force for our family, and one of my greatest joys is seeing her integrity, her compassion, and her intelligence reflected in my own daughters.

My Dad was our rock. Although he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in his early thirties, he was our provider, our champion, our hero. As he got sicker, it got harder for him to walk, it took him longer to get dressed in the morning. But if he was in pain, he never let on. He never stopped smiling and laughing - even while struggling to button his shirt, even while using two canes to get himself across the room to give my Mom a kiss. He just woke up a little earlier, and worked a little harder.

He and my mom poured everything they had into me and Craig. It was the greatest gift a child can receive: never doubting for a single minute that you're loved, and cherished, and have a place in this world. And thanks to their faith and hard work, we both were able to go on to college. So I know firsthand from their lives - and mine - that the American Dream endures.

Hey jerk, do you deny she made those statements? If not, what difference does it make where I got the clips. As for her speech at the DNC, she sorta had to say those things after those comments on the stump. Still, it does not dispense with the fact that she said what she said.

Oh whatever you apologist.

As to your little VP challenge...

Her Retort: Obama talks about Hope and Change. Is that why he picked a running mate who has been in the Senate since I was 9?
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

waterboy

The VP is not being chosen to run the country unless there is a tragedy at the top. He has proven to his constituency for 30 years that he is capable of understanding the system and representing them in that system. In other words he's proven. A good balance to the change that Obama champions. He was a good choice for that function.

Can you say that about Palin?

Talk about skeletons in the Palin family closet!

They are just starting to tumble out.

FOTD can hear the wing nuts on this board now..."How dare you point out her reckless judgment (or lies and deceit depending on what truly transpired)" is an outlandish position to take. http://townhall.com/blog/g/9b3375c7-6a27-4b5e-9204-b267282a1ce1

Ask any obstetrician if a woman should even think about giving a speech then heading to the airport for an 8 hour plane ride after her water broke. The answer will be "absulotely not". The only way this would be appropriate is if she were 8 hours away from civilization and any medical care at all. If Trig is really hers then she showed amazingly reckless judgment in doing what she did. If the baby is really her daughter's then I could respect her for trying to protect her daughter but it also shows that she will resort to deception and lies to cover up a bad situation. While that may be a valid criteria for acceptance into the Bush administration it is not a trait that should be acceptable for a President or Vice President.

Sleazy rumors aside, there is something to be said about a woman who is in labor boarding an airplane for an 8 hour flight. Stupidity comes to mind. This is the kind of thing that turns the religious right off. What happened to teaching abstinenece only? And at the very least, it shows very bad personal judgement, very poor decision-making under pressure, on her part.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has announced that her 17-year-old daughter is five months pregnant. The announcement is "intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child, says the Reuters news service, which carried the first report.
Say What! So the rumors were only half right. And what does that say about the Holy Rollers Damnation of Sex Outside of Marriage? Oh, There is more than meets the eye here, and it doesn't negate Palin's enormously dangerous judgement in flying back to Alaska after Her bag of water broke and giving a speech after it broke. Of course, so typically Republican, after hiding the poor girl for five months, Palin asks for "privacy."

"I want to tell you all a story 'bout a Harper Valley widowed wife
Who had a teenage daughter who attended Harper Valley Junior High
Well her daughter came home one afternoon and didn't even stop to play
She said, "Mom, I got a note here from the Harper Valley P.T.A."

The note said, "Mrs. Johnson, you're wearing your dresses way too high
It's reported you've been drinking and a-runnin' 'round with men and going wild
And we don't believe you ought to be bringing up your little girl this way"
It was signed by the secretary, Harper Valley P.T.A.

Well, it happened that the P.T.A. was gonna meet that very afternoon
They were sure surprised when Mrs. Johnson wore her mini-skirt into the room
And as she walked up to the blackboard, I still recall the words she had to say
She said, "I'd like to address this meeting of the Harper Valley P.T.A."

Well, there's Bobby Taylor sittin' there and seven times he's asked me for a date
Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lot of ice whenever he's away
And Mr. Baker, can you tell us why your secretary had to leave this town?
And shouldn't widow Jones be told to keep her window shades all pulled completely down?

Well, Mr. Harper couldn't be here 'cause he stayed too long at Kelly's Bar again
And if you smell Shirley Thompson's breath, you'll find she's had a little nip of gin
Then you have the nerve to tell me you think that as a mother I'm not fit
Well, this is just a little Peyton Place and you're all Harper Valley hypocrites

No I wouldn't put you on because it really did, it happened just this way
The day my Mama socked it to the Harper Valley P.T.A.
The day my Mama socked it to the Harper Valley P.T.A."

BTW, two speeding tickets were issued to the daughter out from school sick with Mono. What was she out driving?

FOTD doesn't think this is over, this women will be a nightmare which I really think the Neo-Cons deserve. Look for her membership credentials in the Seccessionist Party and AIP http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/1/4231/18477/878/581881.

Just like praying for rain in Denver, and getting a McHurricain for the RNC!
Follow the breast milk. She says she's breastfeeding...

Rico

I will remain somewhat neutral until the "vetting" process has completely played out.... I suspect that will be around one week from next Tuesday.

Until then we can all enjoy a little humor now and then.?
