FB, even though I didn't vote for LaFortune he had plenty of support even after waltzing through his mayoral tenure. He still would have beaten Taylor if it hadn't been for a couple of spoilers in his own party trading on anti issues. Bob Dick makes an endorsement and a photo op and you jump to the conclusion that she'll lead like he did? Who's endorsing Sally Bell?

I think the inference is Bob Dick is still in control.

And, I endorse Sally Bell.

Not inferring anything, but who are you? [:D] Seriously, I'm not an insider, if you are clue me in.

A picture of Bob Dick and Keith is no more insightful than a pic of Lafortune dipping his feet in the Arkansas River with the subtitle, "The River Development Mayor".

When it comes to my vote, my endorsement carries a lot of weight.

Running three times a week, a low calorie diet and two small meals a day can take care of that![;)]

Waterboy, Karen Keith put Bob Dick's endorsement at the top of her campaign website's endorsement page. You might say Karen Keith is endorsing Bob Dick's endorsement. The prominent position suggests that she admires Bob Dick's record as County Commissioner and would seek to emulate it.

Time for Karen to step up and make a clear statement as to the depth of her admiration for Bob Dick and his past gob deals. Like you I am not fond of the bridge, Cinnabar, the hotel etc.

However, as has been pointed out here a lot lately, the goal is to be elected. Maybe its just a photo or maybe she intends to bring the boys back for a remake. A pic is not enough to determine that.

With Sally garnering the support of FB, Wrinkle and 56Packard it looks like one gob would be replaced by another. That doesn't appeal either.

One is of a business home grown that became a landmark on the horizon representing the struggling working poor, catering to their children.  Whether she would exercise this vendetta as a trustees of  Tulsa County remains to be seen but like every person who starts a business, to have it trashed by bulldozers at a great family loss,  would know the problems of the working poor that make up of the majority of citizens of Tulsa County.

On the other side of the "v" is a woman who came up in the limelight, exercising a vendetta with the training of a PR person for the post that the "good old boys" thought was secure.  There is no question that she would like the commissioner post but her handicap is liken to the experience of a PR person who's every statement is subject to an editor.  In this case the "good ole boys" would be available to edit any action that came before the commission.

Let us not forget that these commissioners are trustees to react in the best interest of the citizens.   If one is going to flip a coin make sure it is not two headed.

Commissioners Dirty Bob Dick, "Randy" Randi Miller and thuggish sidekick Dilbert Collins helped drive a successful 55 year old business from the Fairgrounds - Bell's.

So, that the Murphy carney family could control the revenues from the Tulsa State Fair Midway.

Our corrupt commissioners collaborated to destroy a Tulsa Icon.

Another Tulsa Icon gone into the dustbin of history.

Like the Stables Lounge.  Now a Wal-Mart Neighborhood market.

Will the downtown Coney Island be next??

I am not in the district but I would tend to support KK over SB because I don't think Sally fully understands what sort of a Hornet's nest she is getting herself into. Karen Keith will probably be able to handle the pressure and numbers of pissed off people better. Following Randy Miller, both will have probably two years of nothing but cleaning up crap and trying to get bearings all the while the County is struggling with bad PR and will likely lose it's next capital vote.

Karen Keith is the candidate mouthpiece of the local moneyed-controlling establishment.

She has vacumned the Mid-Town Elite for 5X the amount raised by Sally Bell.

I've already received multi-colored direct mailers from Keith, and see her furrowed contenance staring down from me from billboards around town.

Always, FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Karen Keith will be NO Reformer.  She cannot.

She's OWNED.

I'm voting for Sally Bell.

Sally Bell couldn't run a amusement park without letting it fall into complete disrepair.  The place was an absolute dump and anyone who thinks otherwise is remembering it through rose-tinted glasses.  If she can't run a third rate park, what makes you think she can do better with a county?

Ignorance is bliss....Is that you Pat..?

I am not sure of his conclusions that she couldn't run a park. There were a lot of factors involved with working with the county and fighting skirmishes with them that distracted them.

But I know his description of the park is accurate. The park suffered from deferred maintenance. It was pretty from a distance but I was amazed at its decline over the years. If they made a lot of money, they certainly did not plow it back into the site.

I'm not discounting the Murphy influence here. They worked the county for advantage and how they did it will probably never hit the light of day. And its tough making a seasonal business pay for annual expenses. However, the county goons weren't always working against the Bell's for 53 years. There were a couple lawsuits, battles with the surrounding neighbors and an inability to control unruly patrons. Their marketing was not so great either.

If they had focussed on site improvement, security and positive alliances perhaps they would still be there. My impression is that they had lots of plans, visions and competitive spirit but over reached their abilities.

Not sure that's the kind of quality I want in an elected official.  Not saying KK would be any better though.

Having been acquainted with Bob Bell when after the war all products of metal required MRO number to purchase I saw him quite often at the junk yards going through the piles of throwaways searching for the car bodies of children petal toys.  He constructed children rides with these, after he refinished them in his spare time working all day at a regular job.   Then the train he set up in the 6800 block of E S\Admiral Pl.  Remember well when he was negotiating with the commissioners to install a small park on the fair grounds for the children.   And from a simple beginning he was able to build a very impressive children park.

Bell was allowed to take down the fence between the park and the fair midway, during the fair, then the problems with the no-bid-Murphy's created friction.

We all have heard about the delayed maintenance of that old city hall, because of the lack of funding, with many businesses and among them, as presumed Bell's reached the high cost of maintenance.

Has anyone walked down behind the midway during the fair to see the pile of junk that Murphy's brings with them?

It is his daughter-in-law, within her civil rights, seeking  a seat on the fair board but first she must defend the practice of a half century old park, built and owned by the family for children.

Private industry, in most cases delay maintenance because of the high cost of labor or the lack of labor.  Only a city can replace a deferred maintained city hall with a glass monstrosity by taxing the necessary food of the children.

Tomorrow we will enter into the plea to have it torn away.

Aloha and Lawzee:

the Bells were aware of the condition of
their park but its hard to do much
when your time is spent year after year
in court trying to appease the local
neighborhood residents and playing the
old game of mother may I with the Judge

Sally isn't out for vengeance and will
take care of Tulsa and ccd2

I wouldn't ruffle a woman like Sally
Bells feathers she doesn't mess around
or play games she takes care of business
and does it very prudently
