Sarah Palin equates Obama with terrorists

Palin made the comments at three appearances in separate states.

"Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country"

"This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America," Palin said. "We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism."

I wondered how long it would be before the McPain ticket would start slinging the 'serious' mud.

I was just about right.  They're now in desperation mode.

McCain Plans Fiercer Strategy Against
Obama

Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations, several top Republicans said.

With just a month to go until Election Day, McCain's team has decided that its emphasis on the senator's biography as a war hero, experienced lawmaker and straight-talking maverick is insufficient to close a growing gap with Obama. The Arizonan's campaign is also eager to move the conversation away from the economy, an issue that strongly favors Obama and has helped him to a lead in many recent polls.

"We're going to get a little tougher," a senior Republican operative said, indicating that a fresh batch of television ads is coming. "We've got to question this guy's associations. Very soon. There's no question that we have to change the subject here," said the operative, who was not authorized to discuss strategy and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

She's just giving a "shout-out" to her right-wing bloggers.... [}:)]

Of course, the Obama campaign has faced a kinder, gentler version of these kinds of attacks before...

I am glad that Obama is beating him to the punch, though:

By painting McCain as erratic, Obama has already diminished the attacks, and actually put McCain on the defensive.  A good offense works better than a defense.

Nice to see how desperate McCain has gotten.  Slipping behind in just about every key battleground state must be pretty disheartening.  With Palin making these kind of comments, Obama needs to hit back hard against her as well, not just McCain.  If she can throw the hard hits, she can certainly take them.  Of course if he does take a shot at Palin, the McCain Campaign will shout sexism until they're blue in the face.

That may be the case, but the only people who would be listening about the 'sexist' argument would be those that have already solidly made up their minds that they are going to vote for McPalin.  Unless the attack was incredibly stupid.  I don't see that happening.

Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

I think the whole connection is exaggerated, but we need to be careful not to anger Obama and the Terrorists.

Who knows how they might retaliate?

Hometown

Since when do we give credence to the remarks of a former beauty pageant queen?

Considering that the Republicans have
Governed by fear
Sullied our rep around the world
Destroyed our ability to leverage our partners
Brought our economy to the brink
Made it much harder for working people to get by
Multiplied our national debt
Left us in deep red budget deficit
Put generations in debt
Trampled our Constitution
Failed at healthcare and
Created a legacy of partisanship

I would say they have done very serious damage to our way of life and are not fit to serve until they correct their course.
