I met someone at the gym last night who told me her 19 year old is Autistic.  She was having a hard time with him, and said that she had read somewhere that they tend to do well with animals. I remember some years back that there was a woman out in Porter (I think!) who had horses and she was running a sort of therapy clinic there for people like this young man.  But I can't find anything about this online.  May not be doing the right search...

Anyway, if you know of a place that uses horses for therapy situations with people who are Autistic, have Downs etc., please let me know.

There was a Tulsa World article last month about a therapeutic riding center in Bartlesville:  http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?articleID=20080902_12_A11_DellEs715814

Thanks.  Maybe they can help me find someone nearer to Tulsa for this lady?

Maybe so, but even if not, Bartlesville isn't much farther than Porter!  If she tries it, would you report back, please?  I'd be interested in hearing what her experience is.

I think RSU has some kind of equestrian therapy facility too.  It's up in Oolagah.

May you live in interesting times.
