Ted Stevens, the man who helped Palin get elected as governor, has been found guilty on seven corruption charges today.  Given Palin's "reform" philosophy, what was she doing hanging around with a corrupt politician?  Why didn't she call for his resignation upon his indictment, just like she had done for other politicians?

Really, criticizing Palin is getting easier than shooting fish in a barrel.  She manipulated the bidding processto build the natural gas pipeline in her state to ensure that a company with ties to her administration got the contract.  She's been found to abuse her power.  She is an earmark-loving, non-reformer whose own hometown paper endorsed Obama.  Here's what they said about Palin:

quote:
Yet despite her formidable gifts, few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth. To step in and juggle the demands of an economic meltdown, two deadly wars and a deteriorating climate crisis would stretch the governor beyond her range. Like picking Sen. McCain for president, putting her one 72-year-old heartbeat from the leadership of the free world is just too risky at this time.

Far as we know, she never got a sweetheart deal on a piece of property from a felon, nor secured state funding for said felon for a bunch of schlock housing which was sub-standard.

I hear she started her political career under the tutelage of this convicted felon.[;)] Maybe in his living room.

And her pipeline success was...not. She somehow felt she could convince the oil companies to sign on to shipping product through it after totally stonewalling them during its conception. Shades of Hillary and the medical reforms! Now she wants them to send their product through the pipeline that the state will own and instead they're negotiating with Canada to build their own. What a negotiator. Maybe she forgot to wink.

Ahh well. Her base will forget and forgive. She'll be around in 2012.

She has tried to disassociated herself from him at times but you
ve got to realize Ted Stevens won his primary very handily, he is still popular in Alaska and since he is on the way out anyway, there is no reason to stir up a hornet's nest about him now.

Considering that Canada stands between Alaska and the NG's destination in the continental U.S., it's not far-fetched that Canada might wind up with a piece of the action.

I do believe we have four people presently campaigning for office.  All of whom are over-stating any qualifications they think they possess which will get their ticket elected.  Problem with Palin with you people seems to be that she's not a Democrat.

Actually, as I see it, the problem with Sarah Palin is that she is dumb as a post.

Actually, I am quite happy that she is not a Democrat! We have enough problems of our own. But, I am proud of her that she has shown signs of rebelling against her handlers. She knows what works for her and they aren't listening much to her. Control and conformity are keystones of conservative Republican structure. Most likely they just told her to "sit down, shut up and memorize your script".

Yeah, like control and conformity have nothing at all to do with DNC doctrine at all.
