...what will you do with your time?  This election has gone on for an eternity.  I have had an Obama sign in my yard since last January.  I, like many people, have devoted a tremendous amount of time to this campaign.  I'll admit I have been a bit obsessed.  What will we do with our time now?  What will websites, like Pollster, realclearpolitics, Dailykos, Drudge report do?  What will the pundits talk about?  I feel a political campaign recession brewing....

There was a story on Sunday Today about this--people who are going to go through withdrawal, like the ending of a relationship. Or maybe just a really good Survivor season.

I'll just be glad it's all over.

WHat will the news talkers on Fox and MSNBC do since all the guessing, speculating and slinging mud will be over.

Me, I will get on with life and maybe take a midday nap.

There is so much work to do. I will only take one day off to sober up from the country going blue.

The Mayor and city council have elections in November of 2009. The filing dates are July 12-14. The primaries are September 8.

Coburn has an election in 2010 as do all the congressional representatives. The second Tuesday in November serves as election for two county commissioners.

Voting is fun.

Power is nothing till you use it.

WASHINGTON—In a press conference held this morning on the White House lawn, President Bush formally asked the assembled press corps and members of his own administration if, in light of the today's election, he could stop being the president now. "So it's over, right? Can I stop being president now?" Bush said after striding to the podium in a Texas Rangers cap and flannel shirt, carrying a fully packed suitcase. "Let's just say I'm done as of now. Presidency over." When informed by Washington Post reporter David Broder that his presidency would continue through early January, Bush stared at him quizzically, sighed, and shuffled silently back into the White House.

When there is a Democrat in the WH I relax and let down my guard because I know I'm being well taken care of.  This is probably not the best strategy but after eight years of being worried all the time I would really like to have some fun for a change.

All you Democrats will still be voting on the 5th, right?

You got that memo, yes?

So Dems on 11/5 and our polling place is at the casino right?

hehe, that is awesome Conan.

At first I thought that was a dirty trick, but the more I think about it I think it's kinda like pointing at an invisible stain on someone's shirt and then poking their nose when they look down. Can anyone be that dumb?

On the 5th I'll frantically be trying to blow my neighbors leaves back into his yard before the rains come, and most likely failing. That's real life, politics is comic book life.

I think tonight I will head to the Cellar Dweller and watch the returns with the sound muted while some Morphine, The Jam or Talking Heads play over the speakers.

Maybe have Becca synch up "Darkside of the Moon" with ABC News. lol

What will I do? Do what I do every day.

Presidents and politicians come and go, but my life continues indefinitely.

+2 on your choice of Morphine, Mr. B.  A most excellent band whose lead singer snuffed it way too early.

That's right Carlton.  And be sure to bring lots and lots of quarters.

I'm a slow reader, and for a moment that was a strange comment.

Tomorrow I will hope and pray that the new president will lead with a clear mind and America will be blessed with a stronger economy and bright future.

I pledge my support and respect behind whoever the winner is as our Commander and Chief and withhold any criticism until a clear political path has been established.

Mostly I am happy with this election because it represents more political participation than I have ever seen in our history (at least during my lifetime).

I think it has served to get young people more involved in politics not just from an election standpoint, but also in an understanding of how our system works.

I have been wrong several times in my life and I may be wrong about my interpretation of the "change" Obama represents.  It will certainly be an exciting time and I am proud to be a participating citizen in the greatest country in the world.

I have enjoyed all of the spirited political debate and have learned more in my short time participating in the TulsaNow forums than I could anywhere else.

I have a great deal of respect for everyone that has contributed and continues to contribute.  I think we all grow from this.

It gets heated, and we call each other names, but in the end we are striving for the same goals.

I figure that I only have about 9 or 10 more elections left, and without good, solid debate we are simply lemmings, pushed off the cliff by media talking points.

Cheers!
