Can't say I've ever had that problem, aside from when standing in a smoke filled room, which I doubt the elevator is. If it is filled with smoke, you might think about evacuating the building using the stairs after reaching your floor, as there is obviously a fire.

quite good, thank you for asking.  Nothing pisses me off more then getting into a rental car (practically new mind you) and it reeks of smoke.  Alot (not all) of smokers have no regard for other people that do not smoke.  They simply take it upon themselves to trash a new rental car that I am sure many non smoking people will find disgusting.

It reminded me of an even bigger pet peeve of mine. Employees who take smoke breaks in front of their stores. It bothers me seeing employees lingering around smoking near the entrance of say an Office Depot. I have noticed this with several businesses. It makes a place look downright trashy.

Don't get me wrong, even though I detest cigarettes and prefer instead a good Dunhill pipe or Ashton VSG cigar, I whole heartedly support the rights of someone who wants to kill themselves with cigarettes, liquor, food, etc. etc. I just wonder if retail businesses realize it might be in their best interest to allow a back door exit with a smoking area. Sure the issues with stealing, code, etc. etc. are a problem, but the exterior of your store's appearance makes the first impression.

Maybe this isn't a big deal to most people. I taught customer service to new dealers for a major company for over fifteen years, maybe it's me that's being overly sensitive.

What do you think?

I get a kick out of seeing smokers huddled like nervous mice inside airport smoking "lounges."  I think if people have to smoke at work, it should be in small glass enclosed rooms so the rest of us can see first hand how intent the smokers are in decreasing the surplus population.

I think STL does. ATL and LAX do as well, or they did last time I was there.

Doesn't smell like crap and cancer free, so pretty much better than the view of smokers.

no, not in the terminals I've been in.  I always see people smoking outside.  If you are counting the frequent flier club rooms that's different.

I am told IAH does, but they are hard to find.

Something about being near family services.

i second you on the city hall workers.. i was at the new building this past week and had to walk through the smokers barrage to gain access to the front door. must have been 12-15 people out there smoking within 10' of the main doors.

thrifty car rental HQ on 31st and darlington makes employees leave the company grounds to smoke, so there is often people on the north side of 31st street smoking and they leave their butts all along the curb and grass median. same policy for st john med center, so they gather on utica square property.

it makes me want to choose another store when i see its employees smoking in front of the place..

take a bold step and ban smoking in public areas and streets in tulsa.
