My wife and I did not have the same experience there. The sliders were good, the service adequate, we watched a bowl game and the owner stopped by to say hello. We sat up top and watched the younger folks drinking and enjoying themselves. If they were treated the way you suggest then it was a masochistic crowd.

Umm. Where do you work?

Average food price is $8.00 for bland food.  Domestic bottles are $3.00.  Jack/yager/vodka with a mixer $6.00 in an almost 8oz glass.  Empire & Gray Snail use 16oz glasses for $6.00 & domestic bottles $2.50. I have been up there about 6/7 times.  Of those 6/7 times the same behavior happend from the staff about 3/4. I always give a new place numerous attempts before I make my final decision.

I have not been there, but I was looking at their ad in this week's Urban Tulsa and is said that their happy hour had $2 longnecks and $2 appetizers.

I am thinking that isn't over-priced.

What did they charge you for your appletini?

Interesting you haven't been.  I would recommend Oscar's on 18th & Boston.  Happy hour is Mon-Sat from 4pm-7pm & 11pm-close!  $3 well drinks, 1.50 domestic bottles & 1/2 price apps.  The fried pickles, fried green beans & quesadilla's were very good.  Staff provided good/proper service.  It has a nice & roomy indoor & outdoor atmosphere. I have been working in corporate America for about 5 years now.  I have 6 years of experience in bartending & waiting tables.

Just curious NS, are you related to the ownersor are they giving you free food and beverages for plugging Oscar's?

White Owl is just another bar.  All the TV's are the norm.  The drinks are $.50-$1.00 more then other places on Cherry Street.  The food is bland & over priced.  The service is terrible for more then one reason.  I understand that they just opened up but you never know if your going to get service or not.  I understand that waitress/bartenders are there to make money but pushing shots on people that are OBVIOUSLY already drunk is so tacky.  Also, if your going in there with your mate certain staff members have no respect by their behavior for the significant other that your with.  We all know how to behave and flirt properly but being blantly disrespect is very tacky.  Not only does your staff make a bar pleasent but they represent the bar.  By people wanting to come back regular will help a bar stay in business.  I want to go somewhere to have good food, good drinks, good/proper service & good prices.  Sorry but White Owl has none of these and I have no intentions of returning.

Lol...Now thats a bunch of $ull****.....

Nstallion, I do not consider Oscar's and White Owl to be in the same market.  I do not understand your venemous posting of Owl and then fawning all over Oscars.  Why can't they both exist in the same market.  I do not consider them as competition, Tulsa is better off with more well done restaurants.  I patronize both places.  What is wrong with that?  NOTHING.  I like both restaurants for different reasons.  I would consider the Brook to be more competition for the Owl than Oscars. So if you want to attack someplace, then have at it at the Brook.

WOW...thank you for the responses.  I enjoy others perspective.  But seriously Dbacksfan, Joiei input was more of a different outlook then an attack.....consider lessons.  To answer your question Dbacksfan, no I am not related and no I have not received anything free.  If you had read previous response's to my posting, I was only comparing other places that have just as nice buildings but with better prices & service.  I spoke not only of Oscar's but of Gray Snail & Empire.
Joiei, in response to your remark.  Call it venomous posting or call it my honest opinion. Which isn't what this forum is for?  As I said before this my opinion which is not based off a one time experience.  Why exactly can you not consider them to be in same market yet you can ask why they can't exist in the same market?  It was not a matter of competition but a comparision in prices, service & food to someone else's response.  Prices, quality of food, good/proper service, size, location & atmosphere are general good guidelines to use for places.  They have more Tv's and less space that makes the atmosphere appear to be better. Something to think about that.
I think that we tend to start reading something and then automatically go into our emotions instead of shutting them down and just reading with the thought that it's just someone else's opinion.  Sorry, I don't feel that the Owl's quality of food, service or prices meets the standards

NS, it was not an attack, it was a question. You have posted about Oscar's in a couple of different threads. It was meant tounge in cheek. If I was going to attack you it would have been much more direct than an off the cuff (yes sarcastic) question. There have been several people (shills actually) that have posted on here some type of spam or self promotion.

If I offended you, I'm sorry for that. I just tend to be an observational humorist.

NS, I'm on board with the crowd that has noticed you pimping Oscars.  It may very well be that you are just really impressed with the place, making you an outstanding customer.  But in my internet experience such is not often the case.  So don't fault him for his tongue in cheek question.

Your opinion of White Owl is duly noted.  You think it is over priced with poor service and you think the accommodations at the Snail and Empire are just as nice.   I strongly disagree on the building (though I like Empire/Snail/Blue Moon's outdoor areas a ton) and have only been to the Owl 1x so can't speak too intelligently about the service - however the lunch prices were reasonable and the food good.

Anyway, your opinion has been noted.  Feel free to share.  Just letting you know that single issue posting tends to negate your opinion on that issue - it is quickly assumed you are a shill of some persuasion.  Right or wrong, perception is all we have on a forum.

I didn't think Oscar's lived up to the high praise others had given it on here.  I wasn't impressed enough to go back.

I've noticed many of the bar tenders and wait staff at White Owl have migrated from 18th and Boston (Oscars, Wine Bar), wonder if NStallon got burned from the wanderlust?

Went to White Owl yesterday for the 2nd time, and again, poor service. Its like we were pretty much ignored after we ordered water. Oh well. The food was ok but the atmosphere was great for the playoff game.
