What exactly was the ticket being written for?

(Not that it excuses assaulting an officer or resisting arrest in any event)

Not to excuse threatening a police officer, but I would REALLY like to see what happened.  No light on a bike at 3pm?  I'd be pissed too (I would NOT, however, throw a bike at an officer).  Just curious to see how it was handled if the Fox was pissy or the Officer was (again, legally doesn't matter but it reflects on my opinion).

Tay has had his fair share of trouble.  But he hasn't assaulted anyone in years and has stayed off the freeways.  I've got no problem with him or the Fox so long as they remain annoying yet legal.

So does keeping to yourself = riding your bike in the middle of 41st Street near the Promenade mall dressed like Santa Claus?

That wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't have done so IN THE MIDDLE OF FREAKING JULY WHEN IT WAS 90 DEGREES OUT!

So what?  Has he had an epiphany of clarity since then?  I saw him at the council meetings.  Didn't appear that way, at least to my untrained eye.

This was on the KOTV website, cant speak to it's accuracy:

"Bf was riding his bike in the right lane. Stopped at 68th & memorial. Pike rides up on a bicycle I coudn't believe it. He says he is going to write me a ticket for not having a light on the back of my bike in the middle of the day. At night I have 2-3 flashers. So we stop he starts writing me a ticket, I said why are you being such an a.h. and harassing me. He said go sit down there now. I laid my bike down when I did Channel 6, my front tire barely touched his rear tire. He said you just assaulted a Police Officer. Your kidding right? So while I am kneeling down he proseeds to put me in a choke hold. No warning nothing. He keeps saying stop resisting. Resisting? I am flat on my face. About to pass OUT! Finally he Knocks me out channel 6 but thats ok right Channel 6. You trust all the Police right?, keep in mind he has been harrassing me for 8 years & counting. He is the ONLY cop to write me a ticket in the last 15 monthes. Now thats not Police Harrassment and Brutality. Man I can see bloggers are usually haters on the internet. Thanks to the many whom support me. Doing the right thing when your about to soar with the Eagles brings out the Snipers.

I dont think anyone's done any reporting on this beyond cut-and-pasting from the police report (which is poor journalism, imho)

I agree Patric.  His story sounds plausible to me.  I could also see him getting upset with an officer for a light ticket a 3pm and the two getting in an "I'm right" confrontation, which the man with the gun always wins.  BUT, if Biker's side of the story is correct then I'm with him... seems like BS.

OH TO HAVE DASH CAMS!

No charges are currently filed in Tulsa County.  The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.  The cop was harassing him (no light at 3pm?) but then the Fox did not handle it well and threw a fit... giving the cop an excuse to treat him like a man throwing a fit.  Just my guess.
