I've seen some yard signs around I don't understand and was hoping someone could clue me in:

One that I've seen in midtown says "Get over it" and I'd heard it is a response bot some other yard sign but I've never seen the first one, just the responses.

Secondly is a sign I've seen all over town that reads "Home of a proud FRAZA GUY Love, Hannah Sweetheart"

Get Over It refers to people who see signed they don't understand.  [:D]

Really, I have no information on your signs.  But signs that irritate me are the "coded" travel signs.  Usually black circle with white text on the back of a car that is supposed to tell people "in the know" where you have traveled to.  But mostly just stupid.

Also, there is a yellow sign (also on the back of cars) with 2 parallel blue bar (=).  What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Signs are, by definition, worthless if the meaning can not be understood.

While I'm ranting, I don't care what the names of your children or pets are nor do I need a pictorial on the back of your slow moving mini-van so I know the relative size and sex of each child.   I'm coming out with a line of decals to deface these things - just press ons so they don't actually ruin them.  But knives, daggers, umbrellas, and perhaps some more obscene stickers and perhaps bubble talk (think cartoon strips) so people can mess with them.  OK, I'm not so much actually going to do it... but I had the idea and it rocks.

I claim the IP rights to said idea and would be happy to sell them.

On another wild target...  I passed a car wash everyday on my way to work back in Iowa.  One day on my way to work the sign said "our vacuums really suck" and on my way home the other side said "our dryers really blow."  It made me chuckle.  On the way to work the next day the sign said "now hiring."  Really real story, I wish I had taken pictures of it but who saw that coming?

Now someone go Google funny signs.

I am pretty sure that is a gay pride/world domination sticker.

gay pride/world domination?

As in it can stand for two different things?  Or that the person both has gay pride and wants world domination?  OR, is it advocating world domination BY gay pride - which begs the question be asked is gay pride the method to achieve world domination or will "the gays" have more pride when they dominate the world in other ways?

Damn.  Now I'm more confused.  Stupid sticker.

A sign I never could understand is those on the Oklahoma Turnpikes that say "Do Not Drive Into Smoke" Do they mean wildfire smoke? If you see smoke what are you supposed to do, pull over & stop on the turnpike till the smoke clears away?[xx(][8]

It's an "equal" sign, as in "Equal Rights".

That's funny.

Back in the 80's a friend of mine noted that many of the back windshields locally had a sticker in blue that was distinctive but meaningless to average folks. He knew what it was, but instead told anyone who asked that it was the coded signal for gays. Trouble was, it was the decal for Andy Granatelli's Tune-up Masters! Anyone who got an oil change could get a discount by attaching it. People believed him. Ya' just can't overestimate the gullibility factor.

Yes, they do. That stems from some drought related grass fires along that area that caused some terrible accidents back in the late seventies. Just like in fog, people drove onward without thinking. Its a reminder that the area is prone to such rapidly moving fires and to beware.

If I remember correctly you go up high and run right through it...per Days of Thunder.

If your wife's in the car, yes. If you're driving alone, go on through and don't tell anyone.

Equal rights for who?

Gays?  Minorities?  Immigrants? Women? White people?  Irishmen?

Damnit man, your sign isn't getting the message across.  If you want to make a political statement, it should be somewhat understandable.  Or is it covert because they are afraid of fundamentalist okies keying their cars?

If you drive down 36th street, between Lewis & Harvard, on the south side there is a house that has a sign complaining about a certain homebuilder.  It used to be an enormous sign, but I guess he/she was forced to downsize it.  Now its about 3X5, and says something to the effect that he would never use that homebuilder again.  The sign has been up for years, and I guess the neighbors got sick of the sign, so they got signs of their own.

I suspect very soon someone will put up a sign complaining about the neighbors signs.  Glad I don't live there....

The old sign was huge, almost as big as the new park sign on Peoria, but it was defaced constantly.  If my neighbor had a huge sign like that with a spray painted penis on it, I'd ask that it be smaller as well.

I agree--the old sign was obnoxious, and I would have complained as well.  The new sign though is not such a big deal.  If the sign somehow gives the guy some meaning to his life, as a neighbor, I would just let it go.  But I have these images of 36th street becoming a barrage of signs, with neighbors arguing back and forth with eachother.  Maybe we could put up some signs that just say "no more signs".

The sign that I could never quite get was the great big wood sign in a large yard or field and it was painted and done real well with some time taken to make them was.

Get US or U.S. out of the United Nations.

Now me personally I have not been affected to much(to my lack of knowledge)buy US or U.S. being a member. So I figured I would throw that out there for my forum friends to inlighten me.
