QT expanding at 36th and Peoria.....

godboko71

I thought they where building a new one up the street. Would seem silly to expand the current one.
Thank you,

Do they need it?  Yes.

Do you know something I don't and they are about to execute an expansion?

Where/how, did they buy a couple of houses behind the property ala 21st & Harvard?

Dont remember exactly whats around that one. But that is pretty much the heart of pedestrian friendly Brookside. Would rather it not be expanded. Would hope that area would continue to become more pedestrian friendly, not less.  You know, these areas quite easily be destroyed. Especially small ones like this that become popular. Developers may see its a busy area and want to go in there, but if they build their usual suburban model type stuff, they can make a mess of it.

There is a new dentists office going in close to 15th and Peoria. One of those Italian things. Just had to stick his danged parking in front instead of in back.  A. He is stupid for doing it and I hope the trend does not continue with other developments. B. How do these things still get approved in these areas that we should be wanting to encourage as attractive, urban and pedestrian friendly?

I just don't understand?

It is a tight fit. QT needs to expand or close down and move to a larger location.

If those are the choices I'll take move please, but I don't think that is the one that QT has in mind.

1. That QT is the most convenient gas station for many mid-town Tulsa residents and I imagine the majority (including me) enjoy that location where it is.

2. How does the location of the QT make Brookside a less "pedestrian friendly" place to be?  Cars are turning in and out of there?  Is that it?  I don't understand.  Cars turn in and out of The Brooke and Sharky's and Crow Creek and Starbuck's and on and on and on and on and on.  QT is just another place cars turn in and out of.  If you are walking on a sidewalk or crossing Peoria at a light, this QT should not be a problem (and it simply just isn't).  I jog near and by there all the time.  It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

3. QT is awesome.

I bet that QT gets as much foot traffic as vehicle traffic.  That QT and the one on Denver are not only pedestrian friendly, but pedestrian hang-outs.

I don't think I have ever seen a QT that was not "pedestrian friendly" or just friendly in general.  Beats the heck out of 99.999% of other convenience/fuel stores.

Are you referring to the one at I-44 & Peoria? I think that is on hold indefinitely until all the construction plays out. Also, I would think the QT at 46th & Peoria would interfere with the new one more than the one at 36th.

This is the QT where I most often go to get my 32oz cup of unsweet iced tea when running errands.

I'd like them to build a bigger QT but facing West or north. The larger stores have a secondary entrance and they could put it closer to the curbline on peoria.

swake

I don't really mind a slightly larger QT.

But where can I go to protest the huge ugly power poles AEP put in a few years ago up and down 36th in the Brookside area?
