I don't really mind a slightly larger QT.

But where can I go to protest the huge ugly power poles AEP put in a few years ago up and down 36th in the Brookside area?

City Hall

The location and nature of the power lines after the brookside construction was up to them.

OK--what have you heard about any expansion?

Are you referring to the one at I-44 & Peoria? I think that is on hold indefinitely until all the construction plays out. Also, I would think the QT at 46th & Peoria would interfere with the new one more than the one at 36th.

This piece of property is up for sale on their website.  It states the following

Deed Restrictions:"Buyer acknowledges and agrees that the Special Warranty Deed conveying the Property to the Buyer shall contain a restriction which shall run with the land prohibiting the use of the Property as a place of adult entertainment, fast food restaurant, retail grocery store, retail convenience grocery store, or for the sale of items commonly sold in a convenience store, including, but not limited to, candy, chips, snacks, coffee, soda and other carbonated beverages, or for the sale of tobacco products, beer, wine, liquor, spirits, adult materials or drug paraphernalia, or for the retail sale of motor fuels. "

Available for ONLY 4.445 Million CASH!

So does that mean the QT on 46th will sit as an empty QT for years to come?  The one on 15th and Main looks lovely so super.

The "this piece of property" that is being listed for sale on QT's website is the I-44 and Peoria location.  However, I assume that they are not selling the parcel that has been planned for a new store, but rather, they are selling the excess "Camelot" parcel that was purchased when they bought the entire piece.  Notice that they are listing in excess of 4 acres for sale.

This is a pet peeve of mine--a thread started by an ambiguous post that generates discussion.  If the original poster has information that the 36th and Peoria QT is planning on expanding, let's hear about it.  Don't be cute by posting this kind of message.  From the original post, you can't tell whether the writer has knowledge about plans that are in placd, or whether he/she is fishing for opinions about whether people think it is a good idea.

Get on with it.

I know nothing of this supposed expansion, but here are my two cents....the QT at 36th an Peoria is pedestrian 'friendly' only in the sense that it is on a particularly pedestrian portion of Peoria.  Walking to the intersecton of 36th and Peoria via Peoria, North/South is relatively easy.  Getting to the front door of QT from that location (pick a corner, any corner) is actually quite daunting.  Understanding that there are gas pumps and parking spots in front of the building, I understand that this is not a primarily pedestrian destination.  Just the same, I think it is correct that people do walk and bike to this location, because I do it quite a bit.

a) there are no sidewalks on 36th street, either side.  This would relieve most of the issue.  Right now, I have to push my kid in his stoller diagonally across the most dangerous place in Tulsa: a QuikTrip parking lot....sure, this is hyperbole to an extent, but my point is...there are lots of cars, and the average stay at QT has to be under 10 minutes (being generous), meaning they are in an out a lot.  Sidewalks on 36th would mean that I could walk to the part of the lot that provides the shortest route across a vehicular pathway.

b) bike racks.  There are none. Pretty simple solution.

Summary...better pedestrian pathways on the perimeters of the parcel, keep the handicap accessible ramps to the front door...and install bike racks.

Yes, I can.  Can you?

What have you heard about:

1.  When it will happen
2.  How will it happen (i.e., expanding to the west?)
3.  How long will it take?
4.  Will it be closed during any expansion?

Why do you have to be so obtuse?
