I've seen Rooney live 2 or 3 times, and they are a lot of fun. Really good, catchy pop rock tunes. Give them a chance.

I am excited about this event and glad to have it downtown, but I've got to be honest.  This year's line-up is a disappointment.  They could have split last year's headliners with this year's and had two great events. As they kept announcing headliners last year, I was thinking "this is phenomenal, but they are overdoing this and are gonna lose money," but it seemed like it was plenty successful - so it only raised the expectations for this year.  The Black Crows wouldn't be my first pick, but I'll enjoy it (especially with Luther Dickinson) and I'm way stoked on Gogol Bordello and a few of the other eclectic acts. Saturday just doesn't do it for me at all -  I'm canceling my hotel room for that night.

While I agree that the last "headliner" is a bit of a letdown, I still think the lineup is pretty solid. I saw three of these bands (Gogol Bordello, The Cool Kids and Mates of State) at Lollapalooza last year in Chicago and they had great performances.

Gogol Bordello will tear up the town when they play.

Can we maybe hear a fake line-up of a festival that you guys would be happy with?

Cake released their first big hit in Rock 'n Roll lifestyle 1993 before Mellow Gold was released.  However, their album was released 2 weeks after Mellow Gold.

I can also say that you don't listen to Beck.

You can say whatever you want - doesn't make it true.  Just my opinion (and plenty others I'm sure), that Cake is a weak headliner.  Last year was loaded.  Maybe part of the disappointment is due to the rumor that the Beastie Boys would be the big announcement.

It's ok. FOTD recalls a time when the Jerry Garcia was out of the mainstream....but boy, could he draw a crowd out of the wood work.
