No Cramdown Bill

Like a f@rt in an elevator, you didn't hear this one.

The Senate defeated President Obama's "Cramdown" bill yesterday that would force mortgage companies to automatically refinance mortgages for people who purchased homes they couldn't afford.

This is a good sign that the senate has the capacity to recognize stupid legislation, it just has to be really really stupid to stick out.  This bill fit the mold, it was like a clown in church.

It would spike interest rates on everyone, as the already struggling financial sector would have to make-up for the losses.

They made a good decision in spite of Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer.  However they were able to silence most of the media on it.  I think it even flew under Drudge's radar.
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Interestingly, they aren't struggling nearly as much as you seem to think, what with them paying back TARP already. They're just holding far more cash than is really necessary in an attempt to avoid being Wamued. That is driving down their profit margins immensely.

Last I saw, Bank of America had something around $160 billion just sitting there. They only need about $30 or $40 billion. They turned a $4.2 billion profit last quarter, despite the excess cash.

For shame. You mean people that irresponsibly bought a home they could not afford have to take responsibility? That's not right!!
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

That's not the majority of the issue and you know it.
