What do you think is the best convenience store/filling station to buy gasoline?  I read online that ethanol is bad for my model of car.  Which places do not have ethanol?

Most of them label NO ETHANOL on a sign if they don't.  I know Batmans on Pine and Mingo use no ethanol in mid-grade and premium, and there's a Phillip's on 31st just west of 129th that offers no ethanol.  I'm sure there are others.

But beware - these places will charge up to 10 extra cents for it.

I buy 100% gas from Reeder's Phillips 66 at 21st and Lewis because it is in my neighborhood.   I stopped buying from QT, I still go there for my iced tea and my powerball tickets though.  And I do pay extra and it balances because I get better gas mileage.  My car requires premium so I am screwed no matter what.  $2.75.9 on today's fillup.

I remember when they used to call it a "Phil-Up" at the 66 stations.

It's not in my neighborhood - but that's my preferred station. My car also likes the real premium fuel.

No, you don't. You buy gas with an undisclosed amount of some other oxygenate in it.

Probably MTBE, and if buying from any major chain, the summer blend has kicked in also.

I go to that Pyramid Store gas station on Harvard & 51st when I'm in Tulsa since they claim to have pure gas, as do a few other places scattered around Tulsa, short of that may as well head to the nearest QT store there fuel is just as bad as the others. I agree Ethanol is bad, but I fear soon every station will be selling only ethanol- Even Worse is that the government is thinking on raising the ethanol standard to 15% ethanol in gasoline they claim todays cars can run with that.. >:(

My car doesn't have a problem running Ethanol up to E85 (I have a FlexFuel Dodge Avenger), but I'd rather not run it that high.

I do notice though that when I do buy gas with Ethanol, I get better mileage if I buy it from either Murphys or Sams.  QT would give me about 21mpg (it's a V6), the Murphy's/Sam's gas with E10 gives me about 24.  Not sure what that's about.

OK, good to hear about Murphy gas being decent.  I had to stop there today because I was in a hurry.  I have an 06 Pilot that is MUCH better on the gas than my '04 Grand Cherokee was..of course being 4WD all Time wasn't good either.

"100%" gas is not a guarantee of a good product.  Back in the dark ages of leaded gasoline, my car (Buick Skylark GS, Buick's version of the Pontiac GTO) would get 12 to 13 mpg on Texaco but only 10 to 11 on DX around town. It got about 15 on the highway. Traveling between Norfolk, VA and Phila, PA I could get up to 17 using Sunoco. DX also gummed my carb and didn't run as good.  All this was before any ethanol except a little in the winter months to prevent gas line freeze.

Pure gasoline gives you more power and more miles per gallon than ethanol or even E-85. Many pumps don't have any stickers on them, some just say "ethanol blends in all grades" When I can I like to buy pure gasoline.ftp://

Once again, shows you don't live here.

By Oklahoma law, if there is ethanol in any gas, it MUST be stickered on the pump as such.  The wording varies.  Up to 5 percent it must state 'Contains Ethanol'.  More than 5 percent and up to 10 percent it must state 'Contains up to 10% Ethanol'.
