She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed has a birthday coming up soon.  We celebrate birthdays.  We do NOT ask about her age.  I only look stupid.

One of her favorite restaurants is Red Lobster.  I like the food too, especially those cheese biscuits, but I'd like to try something different.

What are your favorite fish places?

May you live in interesting times.

While I like White River, it would be like taking her to McAlister's for her birthday. Not that Red Lobster is much better in that respect, but at least you don't order at the counter there.  :D

Why not Bodean's if you're staying on the seafood vein or Joe's Crab Shack if you're staying on the chain seafood vein?

+1 on Bodeans if you really want to impress the Admiral.

Also, Bonefish Grill and believe it or not Mahogany's is good as well (get that sampler appetizer tray). Captain D's and Long John Silvers if you want to tick her off.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Thanks, Guido, but I really don't need any help getting her ticked off.  It seems to be my best talent, in fact.

Mary's a sweetie, a better wife than I deserve.  She's a country girl, and while she likes places like Red Lobster, she appreciates good food from more down-home restaurants too.  White Fish Market may be a good choice because she wouldn't have to travel far.  She has an adult form of muscular dystrophy that makes car travel painful.

Mmmmm, fish.  I shouldn't be thinking about this right before dinner.  My stomach is growling.

Bonefish is pretty good, but my favorite item there is the salad.  :P

They have a tendency to undercook the fish, in my experience. Better than overcooking, save the one time it made me sick.

White River has the best hush puppies to go with their excellent fish.

I agree. Good stuff, but everything's fried.

I really miss Atlantic Sea Grill.  Bodean's and Michael Fusco's on the river are top notch seafood places.

True story about Joe's Crab Shack. The fam and I went there and ordered cheese sticks, you know that heart-healthy breaded cheese. We all bit into them and they all had no cheese on the inside. Hollow, cheese-less cheese sticks. We pointed in out to the help and ordered a different appetizer. They still charged us for the cheese sticks.

If I want under-cooked fish, I just go to a sushi bar.  ;)
