If I ever do open a 'que joint the slogan will be:

"It's hard to beat our meat"

"Someone get out the butta', cause Conan's on a roll!"

Roll?

Actually I'm baking some Lone Star beer bread right now.  ;)  I've always thought of that one as being a bit yeasty, it's unreal the rise it's got in the oven.

They have a new neon sign out front that looks pretty cool driving on 15th at night.  Not much (or any) neon along 15th so it stands out.  And the Marshall's painted sign is awesome.  I'll see if I can get a few pics.

A friend attended a pre-opening party at Smoke last night.  Said it was great, had a quail appetizer and a steak for dinner, and of course Marshall's beer.  Doesn't sound like a bbq joint like you all have been thinking . . . looking forward to trying it out soon.

I took a picture of the neon sign with my phone last night, but it came out fuzzy and you can't really tell what it is.  I'll try again tonight.  I live just down the street.

The sign is really cool and is a great addition to the neighborhood.  Has a feel to it like Beale Street in Memphis or Sixth Street in Austin.  Would be nice to see more go up.

Agree.  Love seeing new neon signs around town.  And as someone who lives in the neighborhood it's great to see Cherry Street doing so well.  Now I just wonder what will go in the old Camille's spot.  They have a great indoor/outdoor patio that was never used to its potential.  Hopefully the next incarnation in that spot realizes that...

I'll have to try this place soon.

rumor has it that Mi Cocina is going into the old Camille's location. That is the company from Dallas.  http://www.mcrowd.com/micocina.html

I was worried another Beautiful Brands concept like Rex Chicken or Coney Beach would go in there.  Mi Cocina would be great, I love their location in Uptown Dallas.  They would likely make good use of their patio, most Mexican restaurants do.  There really is no need for the curb cut parking lane outside the old Camille's because there is already street parking in the outside lane on 15th.  That would make the patio even larger.  Cafe Cubana would also benefit from having more outdoor table space.  See below.

Speaking of patios, it doesn't look like Smoke will have one nor could they because of the narrow sidewalk outside and the alley/parking area next to them.  The only way would be to give up the parking area and disconnect it from the rest of the building like Full Moon did.

If this is true, it will instantly raise the bar for Tex Mex in Tulsa.  Their food is the real deal.

Smoke opened yesterday.  Anyone go?

Cool, someone else is onto hanging tenderloin.  They had it at Oscar's Gastropub, only other place in Tulsa I've seen put it on a menu.  You can get it at Harvard Meats, great cut.

Michael Fusco had it when he first opened on Riverside.  I don't know about now (has he reopened?).
