Anybody had an event here?  Hate to send business to the South side (just kidding), but looks like a good spot for our purpose.  They don't quote prices over the phone -  I'm not a fan of that concept.

I kind of understand.  If you are bidding on something, what better way is there to underbid your competition than to get a quote from them.

Where is it?  Anyone see the list of acts playing at the S'pank?  Never heard of any of them.  Pretty much after ZZ and Stone Temple Pilots, I've not heard of too many more memorable shows there.  Might have been the right seating for Rod before he got, uh, sick.

Haven't been there myself, but if this is the same location I'm thinking of, it's at the junction of 169 and the BA; accessible from Mingo via an industrial park with uncurbed and possibly unpaved roads.

Holds ~200.

I have; it was last season's Oilers meet and greet party.  It essentially looks like an old auto shop converted into a big ballroom/meeting room.  Cool signs.  It could hold about 200, maybe more, but not comfortably.

Here's the link to the front of it via Google Maps Street View..

The front part of the building is all office space.  The side (where you can see the roller door) is where the 'event center' is.

I thought that was his old sign shop

Probably was, but it resembled an auto shop I used to work at when younger...

we vs us

I've worked with Sam Stokely on a couple of occasions, and he's a nice guy.  Very folksy.  Drives a big truck.  Good fella.

Whoever said it upthread is right . . . it used to be the Stokely sign company's machine shop, and they converted it into an event space.  It's kitschy but works well for certain types of events.  From what I understand you rent the space and have to bring in outside caterers and bartenders, though Sam'll provide you with a list of preferred vendors.

I used to provide rooms for many of the groups using his place for reunions.  Pretty much all of the feedback I got from them was positive regarding the space.  I've done a site tour but never attended an event myself, but it's gotten good reviews.  Of course as always, your mileage may vary.

Is it the machine shop or Bill's old helicopter hanger?

Reminds me of Unit D, only a lot more polished.
