New McNellie's Venture: Yokozuna?

I poked my head in the building about a week ago.  The chef was there and they said they hope to open "by the end of this month."  (So, does this mean, this week?)  They were moving tables around, while carpenters were doing finish work.  The atmosphere is going to be cool, with some nice modern/Asian decorative touches.  I especially like the (bamboo?) slats on the east wall.  The bar (in about the same location as Tsunami's bar) is made from a huge slab of a single tree.  (Shipped in from Brazil, I think they said.  Very cool, but I'm trying not to think about deforestation of the Amazon rainforest....)

Regardless, I can't wait for it to open.  Go Elliott!

The wife and I are going to a tasting on Thursday. I'm not a big Asian fan, but she's dragging me nonetheless. They sent our 100 invites for tastings on Thursday and Friday and my wife secured us a spot. Hopefully, I'm able to offer constructive feedback.

I hope it does well but I'm not holding my breath...every time I walk by it after work, it's empty.

It's actually been pretty busy both times I've been there (prior to a Monday night show at the PAC; and 9:00 PM on a Wed night for drinks and appetizers after an evening meeting).
