I'm kind of surprised none of the conspiracy theorists haven't pointed out that the again will not be an employee, she will be a volunteer.  Just like she is a volunteer for the City of Tulsa, not an employee.  She isn't being paid by the State, so she will be a volunteer.

Just an odd situation.  I've heard of people only accepted $1 or of donated the entire salary to something or other, but I don't think I've heard of volunteer public officials before Taylor.

Some wealthy wives are content to play bridge and volunteer with Junior League.  Some would rather volunteer in government.

One thing about Mayor Taylor is she knows how to get things done and listens carefully with a critical ear for detail.  I think it's great she's going to give one more year of her time to public service.

I question the volunteer vs employee of the City of Tulsa.  I don't know, so I'll ask...  yes, she rejects her salary, but does she receive other benefits?  Legally by charter, can a 'volunteer' be Mayor?

By the charter there is no previsions for a volunteer mayor as it specifies the amount that they are to be paid.  There would be a question with IRS code on the 10% donations limit.  Under normal circumstances if a one calls another saying they need their pre concluded vote and says they will furnish the fuel to come cast it, such could be construed as a bribe.   Still when the fuel is transported in an air plane to the donor of the vote that is only Tulsa politics.

As you are aware get a good grip on your hats because there is possibility that old dilapidated building called the "Oklahoma capital" will need to be replaced with an updated new glass building so the government can be more transparent.  Then each school will need in addition to a football stadium a ball park.  Any school more than 30 years old need to be replaced with a new building built with the revenue bond not needing to have approval by the citizens.

If I were one of the Tulsans I would be singing "I don't want her, you can have her, she too expensive for me".   30 year payoff in 3 years as volunteer mayor?

Sorry, not buying that "listens carefully with a critical ear for detail" bit.  Nobody with a critical ear for detail would have pushed through the OTC City Hall fiasco.  She may have "listened" carefully, but she was apparently only listening to the hired guns who were telling her nothing but what she paid them to tell her.  Beyond Staubach, she only heard what she wanted to hear and looked only at the "details" she wanted to see.

Ever personally sit in on a meeting with her?

Uhhh,  no.  and don't really need to see that she missed "details" as big as an elephant in the middle of her office in the City Hall transaction

Maybe she can get the Okla. Dept. of Education to move from OKC into the old City Hall.

Oklahoma could move the education department into the two vacant floors of Tulsa's glass castle to help defray the cost of its operation.  They would possibly be allowed to put a sign on the building as a lessee.
