I guess that's the price for living in a modern urban environment.

What I have seen is that affordable living in the big city is often in somewhat less than wonderful accommodations.  New, high class stuff is expensive.  Your rent is paying for the loan on that stuff.

My friend is now looking at the Brandy Chase Condos at 67th and Peoria.  They are approved for FHA loans.  Anyone know anything good or bad about these condos?

I don't know about the condos but that stretch of Peoria is a pretty rough area.  From about 71st north to I-44 from the river east to near Lewis is not the best neighborhood, mainly right around 61st & Peoria to Riverside though.
