TFA Recognizes Contributions to Tulsa Architecture at Sixth Annual Foundation Awards
Awards go to The Mayo Hotel and Jack Frank

The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture (TFA) announces two annual awards recognizing lasting contributions to Tulsa's built environment at the Sixth Annual Foundation Awards ceremony on Thursday, October 29, at The Penthouse of the historic Mayo Hotel, 115 West Fifth Street, 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and wine before and after the 6:00 p.m. presentation of awards by Michael Wallis, Trustee of the TFA.

The Foundation Lifetime Achievement award is awarded to Jack Frank.  This award is presented to a person whose life's work has been devoted to making Tulsa a better place to live.

The Foundation Landmark award is awarded to The Mayo Hotel and Luxury Residences.  This award honors a physical artifact, building, structure, or place that is a significant part of Tulsa's heritage.  The selected landmark is photographed and documented and the landmark's caretakers presented with a plaque at the awards event to be displayed on or near the landmark.

All awards have been nominated, considered, and selected by a majority vote of a committee led by Tom Wallace, P.E., Foundation Awards Selection Committee Chairman.

The Foundation Awards Selection Committee members included Tom Wallace, P.E., Mercedes Millberry, event chairman; Susie Woody, ASID; Marty Newman, Trustee, National Trust for Historic Preservation; Rachel Zebrowski, AIA; James Shelby Navarro, and John Lotti, AIA;

Shawn Schaefer, Director of the University of Oklahoma Urban Design Studio, acted as advisor to the Awards Selection Committee.
