I'll agree there are places I'd rather see money spent than on wars, but CONAN has zero clue about economics if he doesn't figure the money spent on a tank is "sucked down a black hole" and has zero bearing on the economy.

Prove how it helps. Better yet, where else could the money be spent to furthur our economy and our culture.

Conan71

Plenty of other places it could be spent, but buying a tank is no different than buynig aircraft by a government or aircraft leasing company.

Companies and people all along the supply chain are, get this, paid money to produce something.  What a concept!!!

" As I have maintained for years --military spending is a waste.

So then you advocate eliminating the military entirely.

Broader Measure of U.S. Unemployment Stands at 17.5%

" So fewer workers than might be expected have lost their jobs. But those without work are paying a steep price, because finding a new job is extremely difficult."

"It is a strange combination: workers who still have a job are doing better than in other deep recessions, but the unemployment and underemployment have risen to their highest level since the Depression."

I'll grant you this, even though I don't agree with a lot of your notions about economic issues, you are consistent in your yardstick of unemployment from the Bush Admin to the current admin.  Very few libs would own up to it.

Well of course you would look at this issue as the "glass half full". You viewed the prior administration's handing of issues the same way.

Seen on a bumber sticker at an east Tulsa bar:

"Democrats see the glass as half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs."

;D

"Special interests bought the Republican a beer.  Democrats see the beer glass and think it should be confiscated and redistributed as smaller shot glasses amongst those less fortunate."

Well written and reasoned post bok. Big +1.

Which is worth about two dozen of your "liar, liar pants on fire" posts, BTW....

Did you call Ronald Reagan a LIAR his first year in office, or did you defend Jimmy Carter and tell us this was REAGAN'S ECONOMY back in the 80s?

Or maybe you weren't around for that?........ when Reagan was sworn in, unemployment was around 7%..... less than a year into his administration... in October of 1981... Ronald Reagan told us that the economy was in a "slight recession".... months and months of double-digit unemployement followed.... so Guido, if Obama's a liar using your loose standard of the word "liar"... then so was Reagan...

Are you a hypocrite and or just a Dubya spooner?

Unfortunately, the glass gets broken and no one gets anything.

recovery.gov lists jobs saved or created in congressional districts that do not even exist, apparently even in Oklahoma. Indeed, from the article:

"In Oklahoma, recovery.gov lists more than $19 million in spending -- and 15 jobs created -- in yet more congressional districts that don't exist."

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/jobs-saved-created-congressional-districts-exist/story?id=9097853

I guess the jobs being saved or created are totaled from the 57 states Obama has visited.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

If a person were to be given a $100,000,000 check to make jobs to produce articles for the world trade, what kind of jobs would they create?

Would they only create a $90,000,000 golden parachute (Convertible to EURO's) for themselves and employ 10,000 advisors?  ;D ;D

Tomorrow we will enter into the plea to have it torn away.
