Sarah Palin 2012 - the world is going to end anyway

In the title to your post you use 2012 as possibly the end of our solar system caused by the aligning of the planets with the sun.
Its prediction is subject to the gravitation forces of which we know little about.
When you hold a pencil out and drop it does it fall up or down? Neither as it is no longer at rest but under control of gradational forces that we cannot define or isolate.
The prediction of the possible ending of the planet is based on the upheaval from the molting core of the earth along with the combined forces of gravitation as unlike forces attract each other thus holding the planets in our solar system in orbits.
As the planets rush toward aligning we are already getting signs of such with the devastating earthquakes to where sciences' are saying they are moving our planet a very small distance off its orbit.
Now Sarah Palin running for the presidency could be overshadowed by the presumption if she were to win then it would be equal to the predicting of our solar system, one of a possible three trillion, would be a total catastrophe.
Course in the political circles the female are taking over and they may do a better job than the male has done.
If they did there could be a lot of sex changes in the future.
Today we stand in ecstasy and view that we build today'
Tomorrow we will enter into the plea to have it torn away.

OK ... clue me in. What was ABATE's beef with the Salvation Army?

Salvation Army wanted them to wear helmets?

IIRC, it was a conflict over control of the annual Tulsa toy run.  I seem to remember that the split was due to ABATE's support of "Toys For Tots" which is sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Starvation Army skimming more off the toy donations than was agreed.  I believe there was also a dispute over event costs.  Personally, I thought the problem was mostly with egos more than anything else.  Could be wrong on the donation splitting issue, and a correction on that point is certainly appreciated if anyone else remembers different.

I rarely participate in the runs any more, it's hard on clutches and brakes and there's too many near misses with motorcyclists who only get their bike out and put on their biker costume once or twice a year.

OK, I had a bit of a migraine already this afternoon...you've gone and made it worse.  It's time to mark you as 'ignore'.  Or as the internet old timers remember, "PLONK!".

Wow! That brings up memories.  Old Usenet stuff.

Correct.  It's an acronym.  Anyone remember what it stands for (admittedly there were several, any one of them would work)?

Red Arrow

Google "plonk acronym" and you'll get plenty of definitions, too many to link to.

Hey now, what is with the attacks on me today?

Symbolic.

Yin & Yang stuff.

You are the unbending reed.  FOTD is the fluttering cloth.

In steady breeze you hold your stay.   FOTD simply makes fartlike-fluttering noises.

Even if the planets are aligned, it cannot cause the destruction of our solar system.  Gravitational fields are directly proportional to mass and the sun has far more mass than all the planets combined.  Then there's the inverse square law that applied to all fields, gravity included.  It states that field strength decreases by the square of the distance, so something 3 times farther away has 1/9 the strength.  Something 100 times farther away has 1/10,000.  We are roughly 93 million miles from the sun.  Mars is roughly another 90 million miles out, and Jupiter, the first of the gas giants, is 180 million miles past Mars.  Even when aligned, their gravitational fields have an infinitesimal effect on our planet.

Frankly, I think we should be far more concerned about a possible attack on our city by either Godzilla or Mothra.

May you live in interesting times.

I've supported them to the best of my ability for too many dozens of years.  And a good portion of that time it was with a nose plug for some of the crap they have pulled.

ABATE and Army were to blame for that - just about equally.  ABATE left its roots behind like an old pair of panties and the Army was it's normal arrogant self, claiming the Toy Run was "theirs".  ABATE had some factions that wanted to support Marines (since SA was so arrogant) and some wanted to stay with Salvation Army.  Marines won.  (Even though everyone knows that the Marines give all their leftover toys to the Salvation Army...)

The second Major back from the one they have now (before Daniel New) was an ex-CIA guy - can't remember his name.  And he kind of ran the show a lot like that.  Pretty effective given the financial mess his predecessor left...but he seemed to alienate a lot of the big givers in town.  (All our little kettle contributions are pretty tiny compared to what the whales give.)

They have some really great people there and the volunteers are fantastic!  (Me too, whenever possible).  And they actually DO what Jesus would do rather than make catchy phrases and amusement parks!

They really DO the most good.  Even though they can really piss ya off at times.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.
