QuoteToday, Obama's White House announced what charities will get his 2009 prize money. It's an almost perfectly balanced list of PC beneficiaries. Here they are:
"These organizations do extraordinary work in the United States and abroad helping students, veterans and countless others in need," said President Obama. "I'm proud to support their work."

$250,000 to Fisher House: Fisher House is a national non-profit organization that....

...provides housing for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.

$200,000 to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund: In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, President Obama asked former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton to create the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund to raise funds for long-term relief efforts in Haiti.

Props to Obama for his choices and doing the right thing with that money.

More to help veterans in his own small way than Baby Bush did with the whole US Federal government to work with for 8 years!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Bush is gone.  He's fishing in Texas.  Find a new hobgoblin.

Ironic isn't it how we spent 8 years wasting time going after Clinton on nothing but made up stuff by the RWRE, and then the NEXT 8 years going after Clinton on nothing but made up stuff by the RWRE.

And now, when there has been one year of slow progress undoing some of the damage done by those last 8 years, it's desired to push it under the rug and just ignore the past;
Bush is gone.  He's fishing in Texas.  Find a new hobgoblin.

Well, you certainly understand about those that don't know history and being doomed to repeat it...  we may well repeat it this fall.

By electing Democrats?

I thought the polls were showing a Republican landslide coming?

But no.  By electing me.  And a few hundred other independents around the country.

And maybe get rid of all the county commissioners in this state and put in some new ones to educate in the wild, wacky world of graft and corruption.  Jim Inhofe teaching the classes, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 7 - 9 pm, location to be determined.

Oh, so it was the repubs fault that Clinton wagged his finger at us about no sexual relations with Lewinski and the repubs forced Clinton to commit perjury in a deposition and obstruct justice. It was also those evil repubs that got Clinton's law license suspended in Arkansas and him disbarred from the U.S. Supreme Court. Got it.

Clinton was stupid for lying about it, but what exactly do his sexual proclivities have to do with a land deal in Arkansas? Ken Starr's investigation was a 99% witch hunt.

Nothing. But who cares? You seem more upset about how Clinton got busted rather than that he got busted. And Clinton was more than "stupid", he committed offenses that most of us (those that are not president) would get fined or imprisoned for committing and a court would not give a damn how the offense was discovered.

Our tax dollars paid a bunch of republican lawyers $40 million dollars to keep investigating the President of the United States under the guise that he had been involved in a shady land deal decades before. When all their lies and innuendo were found to be untrue, they used a court subpoena to ask him questions about his sex life.

Hell yeah I'm bitter.

Nooooooo. Really?  As for repub lawyers, I thought Ken Starr was appointed by a three judge panel to investigate the death of Clinton's white house counsel Vince Foster and real estate transactions and the expansion of his powers was approved by a three judge panel as well. If you are pissed off, why not call Janet Reno who I thought had the power to fire him (I could be wrong about the latter).

It gets me that our most Right Wing board member gives props to our President, whom he really does not like, and it turns into a back and forth "your sides wrong".  Seems that some people just make comments to try and piss off the other side and start an argument, then get upset because they argue with them.  Why not just let the deed stand on it's own?

heironymouspasparagus

Nathanm makes the point that I have made before.  Couldn't care less how or that he got busted.

What is shameful is that Reagan didn't get busted for his lies and criminal activities, even if that "Great American Hero" Oliver North did!!  (Convicted twice, then let off by "reactionary judges" who arbitrarily overruled the finding of what, two juries??

Or that George I so emphatically lied while "shaking his finger" and ranting "Watch My Lips" that there would be NO NEW TAXES!!!  (Bush's emphasis.)  Or that he "hired" Manuel Noriega while head of the CIA, putting the lawfully elected government out.  (Then had to go back as President and "fire" him.)

Or that George II lied SO many ways, killed 4,000 of our children, turned us into a war criminal nation (can you spell torture AND rendition?), and just pretty much in general ran the economy into the ground  (you did live here through the last 10 years or so?)  Not to mention the "freebies" he gave his buddies at Halliburton to the tune of tens of billions of 'no bid' contracts.  Wow, I wish I had those kind of friends, so I could practice graft and corruption, too.  Oh, wait...I have a conscience and a well developed set of morals, so I guess that wouldn't work....

And who wants to see our President drunk in public virtually every time he was out, and then try to give the German Chancellor a back rub??  That is worse than any or all of the things that Clinton did.

I ain't bitter!  Life is too much fun for bitter!!!
