Oklahoma Waterfall Study

Thought this may be of interest to some here.  Mike Rinehart, of nearby Drumright, is interested in documenting all of the waterfalls in Oklahoma.  The most well-known are Turner Falls in the Arbuckles by Davis and the various waterfalls in Natural Falls State Park east of Tulsa near Siloam Springs.  But there are many more including some that are extremely remote in southeastern Oklahoma or are on private land, and some that are possibly over 100 ft. tall.  Check out the pics on his Myspace, some of these are really beautiful.  I believe he wants to eventually have a website showing where you can find the waterfalls which would be cool...

This one, Blue Stem Falls, is not far from Tulsa in western Osage County off SH 18 near Shidler.  Anyone ever seen these falls?

He also claims there is a waterfall deep in the mountains of southeast Oklahoma that is over 300 ft. tall but is on private property so documenting it is difficult.  Hopefully he can work with the private owners of this land, possibly Weyerhauser or another logging company, and allow public access.  Considering the tallest 'known' waterfalls in the state are both 77 ft., which includes Turner Falls and one of the waterfalls at Natural Falls SP, this would be quite the discovery.  Currently Arkansas has the tallest waterfall in between the Rockies and Appalachians: Hemmed-In Hollow Falls at 220 ft. near the Buffalo River east of Fayetteville.

There is a waterfall in Sapulpa. Its in the Pretty Water Lake/Lake Sahoma area. However, this "waterfall" is about 12 feet tall at best. I took this picture from there and went crazy with the contrast.
