We need a TNF happy hour again soon.  I was going to recommend somewhere out south to accomodate those who live and work that way.  I know we do all we can to promote mid and downtown, but it's nice to do it elsewhere every now and then.

On 101st or by the lighthouse in Jenks? Just so long as we don't have to sit in the bar area at the one in Jenks I'm okay.  I'm on a smoking rampage lately, sorry guys/gals.  I've been resisting the urge to shove hot burning cig... never mind.

Pro-smoking or anti-smoking.

I don't want to smell like a cigarette when I get home.

What the?  I'm too old to pay a cover charge.  I was going to go there tomorrow night but that just placed it into my pass list.

South Tulsa, cover band, cover charge...guess I'll look for my old man bar downtown.

I didn't know anyone charged a cover any more.

I don't go to places with cover charges.

I'm OK with a minimum charge if they have live entertainment.  Buy a couple dollars worth of tickets which are redeemable dollar for dollar in food/drink.  I first saw that in Lancaster, PA in the 70s visiting the home town of a college friend.

Back on subject. . .

Told you so.  This just out moments ago.  Obama 2012 campaign uses alleged threats as fundraising kickoff.

Subject: Urgent -- we need to act

Friend --

We knew that power concedes nothing. So did President Obama. So did the members of Congress who courageously voted for reform, knowing that the special interests and the extreme right wing would retaliate swiftly.

The attacks are fierce. Deceptive ads are hitting the airwaves in swing districts. GOP lawmakers are pushing to repeal reform -- and preventing the Senate from performing basic functions. A few Republican attorneys general have launched a baseless attack to overturn the legislation. But that's not even the worst of it.

A conservative blogger posted the home address of Congressman Tom Perriello, urging tea partiers to "drop by." Other members have had death threats. Democratic offices have been vandalized.

Please chip in $5 or more to defend health reform -- and those in Congress who fought to make it possible.Showing support for reform and those who fought for it is our number one priority right now. We're going all-out, organizing grassroots events around the country, running supportive ads on the air, and making sure that every American knows the truth about the historic legislation that representatives voted into law.

Members of Congress know that reform would not have passed without all of your incredible work. But we also know that it would not have passed without their courage.

Together, along with President Obama, we beat the insurance companies and brought affordable coverage to 32 million without it, reduced costs for families and small businesses, and created the toughest patient protections in history.

A few weeks ago, we made a simple promise to these representatives: You fight for health reform, we'll fight for you. It's time to hold up our end of the deal.

Yes, you people need as many happy hours as possible to offset those blues.

Market dropped 100 points on this irrational tactic.

Not everyone is angry.

Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform "a miracle" and a major victory for Obama's presidency, but couldn't help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.

"We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama's) government," Castro wrote in an essay published in state media, adding that it would strengthen the president's hand against lobbyists and "mercenaries."

When I see the term "state media" I get confused now.

MSNBC?
al jazeera?
Cubanos en Suecia?
or CNN?

Is CNN still on the air?

When Castro is gone you think America should just let Cuba go further down that road or should we reach out into the future? Are you capable of looking forward?

State run media? Don't recall this line when your boy was wiping his hands on the White House curtains.
