I had brunch today at Caramel.   Excellent food,  we shared the pastry basket, the smoked salmon plate and the Crab Benedict.   The food took a bit of time to get out but we were involved in our conversation so it was not noticed.   The pastry basket was very good, nothing disappointed, their croissants are very good and the cheese danish the best I have tasted since I moved to Tulsa.  The smoked salmon was served on homemade potato cakes with capers, onions and cream fraiche.   The crab bene's was poached eggs on crab cakes on fresh brioche toast with a nice hollandaise.  The pastries in the cases were beautiful.   I was temped to pick up a whole fresh fruit tart to bring home.   Nice work.

Bit fancy for my taste buds.

I haven't tried Caramel but it sounds great, and very similar to Kokoa that used to be there.  Is Kokoa now in Utica Square?  If so does anyone know where?

To be honest, I never even thought of this place again after your original post.  I wonder if they did much to market it.

I just looked at their menu, and having not been there myself, ~$20.00 for a salad or sandwich a plated dessert and a beverage? That had better be the best I could ever have for that price.

That's too bad.  It was always a spot we thought of but never went.

hello

Not surprised in the least.

Not surprised in the least.

Clarify, please.  Bad food? Lousy service?

I looked at the link to the menu and the prices for fru-fru sandwiches, beverages, and "sharable" desserts didn't really seem out of line for other places around town.  Heck, not even much more than a sandwich at Jasons.

my experience was also very bad service.   The food was good, but the waiters were some of the worst I have encountered in Tulsa.
