Ginger Baker? David Teegarden? Watts? Appice? the list is wide and long....would Keith Moon be anything without Who?

You are talking a totally different league, all those guys mentioned are great drummers.  Trying to draw a comparison between them and Neil is like comparing a horse to a cow.  Similar but entirely different.

Here's some Crayons, Sonny.  Now go play with yourself.

another example....where would he be w/o Led Zep....

Conan, you're slip sliding away....

And there's one big difference, Neil Peart is the nucleus of the group.  Bonham, Moonie, Jamo... all replaceable, though Zep and The Who were never quite the same...

It's always these creepy classic rock hanger-ons that take it personally when you talk smack about their heroes.

If you like classic rock and want to bring back concert memories or just interested, check out the web site listed below. The offer live concerts by the Dead, Led Zep, Janis Joplin, Hendrix, recorded back in the day and some before they were well known. You can listen for free or download for a fee.

Wolfgang's Vault is a tremendous site for those who loved music from the late 60's, early 70's and concerts throughout the great Bill Graham's production career. Losing Bill was a heart breaker for those of us that knew going to a BGP show meant magic was always possible.

Do you know the story of how these tapes were discovered? Uncle Bobo had a fire in his warehouse in the early 80's and he believed the tapes went down in flames. When he died instantly in a helicopter crash one rainy evening returning from his Shoreline Amphitheater, his estate was forced to sell some assets. His son David had several trailer loads of memorabilia which he auctioned all at once and the current owner of Wolfgang's Vault won the winning bid only to discover hidden in the depths tapes and tapes which Bill had thought went up in flames. I feel bad for David Graham because he sold a gold mine for pennies on the dollar. Uncle Bobo was clever to retain all rights to this unbelievable treasure trove of historic proportions when he signed his acts.

Check it out....indeed, the best collection of live performances ever assembled. Countless hours of rock and rolls greatest moments!

I lived in the bay area for 25 years. I caught a segment about Bill Graham on it was either 60 Minutes or CBS Sunday Morning a few years ago. They interviewed the guy who bought the building and started the web site. Seems Bill Graham recorded just about every show he promoted and they found the tapes in the basement. Thats how I got turned on to the web site. And just to clarify, Bill and some other where killed coming home from a Huey Lewis and the News concert at what was then know as the Concord Pavillion. Crashed into a tower near Vallejo, California.

If you enjoy concert memorabilia. Posters, tickets stubs, photos, a related site...

Sad though the stuff is for sale. Some of it should be in a museum. Those psychedelic posters are classic. Some of the stuff was hanging in Bill Grahams office when it was set on fire.

I'd say something here that might be used against me in the future at TNF....POSTERS!

QuoteBookmarked.  Thanks for the share.

Sure. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. If I remember right, they have a few thousand tapes to go over and convert to the web. They add new concerts all the time from his archives.

The time has come. Tomorrow night at the OKC Zoo Amphitheatre. The final tour of one of Rocks Greatest bands. Scorpions live at 9:30 P.M.
I bought the three day pass just to see them. Here comes some cloud cover and mild temps. It was just meant to be.
