Had one at lunch...was smaller than I thought it would be but it was tasty...worth 4.99? not sure....Compared to a sonic chicken sandwich I think its comparable but a little more tasty than Sonic...why doesn't a local restaurant come up with stuff like this...

Eh, if it's almost all protein and fat it works. A few carbs won't screw up ketosis, just gotta keep the ratio protein heavy enough.

Damn, I think I've been pwned...

KFC is claiming only 11g of carbs in the fried, and 3g in the grilled version.  11g is just barely over 1/2 the daily allowance of 20g even on the intake phase.  I'd assumed there had to be at least 20g per patty which would be double the daily limit on intake and the max during the 2nd phase.

More physical activity will also allow for more carb intake.  I generally try to avoid bleached flour, processed sugars (uh, other than alcohol  ;) ) and stick to complex carbs, but HFCS and simple carbs come in handy on endurance rides or racing (gu packs) or carb-loading before an event.

Groups are already calling for it to be banned, Jeebus Farking Crisco:

There's already at least one nutritionist group calling for a warning label on the sandwich. The KFC Double Down is unique in the fact it has no flour bun using two patties of chicken. However, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine wants KFC to marketing the chicken sandwich to children.

The group claims that the food item contributes to childhood obesity. They want to keep ads for the sandwich from within 500 yards of schools. They even wrote their own KFC warning label.

Again, not seeing the issue. It looks horribly unhealthy but 540 calories is not huge in the fast food world and you could eat 4 and still be around the 2,000 calorie recommendation. Not to mention every the ads I've seen advertise it in fried or grilled, which is likely better for you.

I set out to try it today while passing through Catoosa.... I stopped @ the KFC and the discovery of a buffet trumped testing the Double Down for today....
I thought Jenks was the only KFC buffet near here left....
What a bargain.... Pieces of chicken for around .50 each w/ free sides....
Highly recommended.
