Boy, ain't it the truth.  But I guess it could be worse... we could still be increasing discretionary at 20 to 25% per year...for decades.

Have you read any more of Thoreau than that one quote?

More specifically; any full works?
I am in the middle of "Life Without Principle" again.  One of several in a journal I bought years ago and read again from time to time.

Me too.  Notice how the World keeps it away from the rest of the comics.  Just one of the reasons I don't bother with that pitiful excuse for a newspaper.  Oh, except for the Sunday coupons....
