My GF and I were out on a bike ride around the Lake Draper area with a friend Sunday afternoon.  A fellow driving around looking at storm damage from the previous Monday rolled down his window and advised us there was a pretty strong storm coming from the northwest.  We literally rolled in about two minutes before the first hail stone hit at her house in MWC.  Fortunately, quarter size was the worst we got, but I've never seen such a pelting in all my years in Oklahoma.  The friend we were riding with lives in a 1999 tornado rebuild down in Moore.  He had softball size holes in his roof after the storms that raged through last Monday.

Honestly, these were not shot during a snow or ice storm this last winter:

Too bad OMG-man ruined the audio.  A lot of storm chasers do that, too, and you would think they would know better having been around the block a few times.

Some other noteworthy videos of that storm:

Big time.  I bet the bruises are nuts now.

My son and soon to be daughter in law live between the Paseo district and the Bricktown. It busted out all their front windows. They also will need a new roof. He had parked his pristine Nissan Maxima and was driving their little beater so as to keep the mileage down but hadn't expected the storm. Ruined his paint. At least they have some insurance and he wasn't out jogging.

Not his week. The day previous someone broke in and stole his large screen.

Golfball sized hail covering the ground isn't really all that rare, in my experience. That doesn't make it any less impressive, or annoying.

Not a month after my SO moved to Arkansas for grad school we woke up to I initially thought was someone's errant golf game. I was shortly disabused of that notion when it went from a couple of hailstones to raining hail. Her car got quite a few dings from that bit of fun. We were lucky no windows got busted, although the guy who owned the house had to get himself a new roof and some new siding.

Not long after moving to Tulsa, we got a nice hail storm that put a few more dents in the cars.

I'm just glad I haven't experienced anything larger than slightly bigger than a golf ball. Where I used to live, it was a great reference because there were always golf balls in the yard. Apparently golfers in Arkansas don't have good aim. I still haven't figured out how they manage to hit them all the way across the railroad tracks if they're not aiming at the house.

You obviously haven't seen me try to hit a golf ball (with a golf club).
