Anybody here using Verizon?  I have Droid envy.  I think I'm about to jump on the Droid X or maybe wait for Droid 2.  I hate AT&T, but I'd stay with them if they had a phone I wanted.

I have a couple of friends here who have Verizon (don't have any of the smart phones) that sort of lament leaving AT&T.  You know those Verizon Wireless commercials with the "Can you hear me now" dude?

Evidently not so much around NE Oklahoma.

I mark that up to growing pains though, since they're pretty much a new player here.  But I sure wouldn't want to use them.  AT&T, for all its evils, is built up quite nicely and I've never really had any network or phone issues with them.  But I did start with them when they called themselves Cingular.

AT&T got a real Android phone a week or too ago. When the iPhone goes multi-carrier, you can expect more android phones on AT&T.

Here's a comparison chart for you on which droid to get:

Did you not ever notice that they never played the other end of that phone call?

Man, you can't buy publicity like this. An Oklahoma band decides to film a music video with the iPhone 4, and it looks really good:

I just reposted it on AppAdvice.com (a site about Apple mobile devices and apps) which should get them a lot more publicity.

I saw that before and it's fairly accurate except for the cash part. I've always been able to sell my and my wife's old iPhones for about what the new ones cost when I upgrade. For example, in the last two years I bout 3 iPhones totaling $600, but sold the old ones for $530. So basically my iPhone habit has cost me $17.50/yr per phone.

FYI - 2 Droid X's on the way.  I was considering a switch because of the limited hardware at AT&T.  I had some friends that were happy with Verizon, after steady improvement in the last couple of years. Then this last week I probably had at least %30 of my calls drop or have some quality issues.  I have had enough - time to try something new!

My problem with Verizon (other than the speeds they tried to pass off as acceptable when they first came to town) is that I want a smartphone to be a smartphone. Not smart OR phone. I don't want to have to hang up a conference call to check my email and on CDMA networks you can't do data and phone simultaneously.

Add a deck of cards, a Texas Instrument calculator, a pad of paper, and you have all sorts of useful apps with that.
