Hillary for Biden?

VP for Sec. State?

Why not?  Give it a try!

On his syndicated national show, Chris Matthews of MSNBC assembled a panel to discuss Virginia Gov. Doug Wilder's suggestion that Hillary Clinton replace Joe Biden as Vice President.

Howard Fineman of Newsweek, a longtime Hillary watcher, said Mrs. Clinton would accept a place on the 2012 ticket "in a second." John Heilemann, a reporter New York magazine, said the major obstacle would be to "figure out a way for Biden to slide aside happily" and suggested that Mr. Biden replace Mrs. Clinton as Secretary of State.

Mr. Heilemann outlined why President Obama just might want to have a steadier hand at his side for his re-election campaign: "The Republican attack on Obama is going to revolve around 'too liberal,' but also 'too incompetent.' . . . They're going to say, 'Look, you hired this guy. He was too young for this job. He didn't know what he was doing. He didn't have the experience, and look what's happened.'"

Poor Joe. . . at least he'll always have YouTube.

I can just hear Hillarity now:

"Hell no I won't be Obama's beotch!"

Give him something bright and shiny to play with.

My favorite comment during the election: "Biden. . .Really?"

Yikes, I am not sure I want Biden in the position of Secretary of State.  For some reason that sounds worse than him being VP.

I think he would make a decent Sec. State under this administration.  If managed properly, he could be kept far away from video cameras and tough questions.  Axlerod could send him a weekly list of position statements, and he could fly around and shake hands.

The great thing for Democrats is that it would get him out of the campaign circuit.  He offers little advantage campaigning for other candidates.  He's kind of a "sad clown."  Every time he opens his mouth people's sphincters tighten.
