Marriages are like making pancakes, you gotta throw the first couple out.

Well if you had eaten...

Eh never mind

Got lucky on my first (and so far only); no kids so the break cost me about $300.

Your assets must have been worth pancakes.  Either that or you got divorced somewhere besides Oklahoma.

Yup.  Texas.  In 1993.  We did one of those 'take with you what you brought in and split the asset/debt that was common' divorce.  I was just 26 and didn't have alot in the way of assets or debts at that point.  I wound up paying about $800 on a joint CC account, even though it wasn't me that charged all that crap.  It was a way for me to get my credit union to do an unsecured loan so I could establish credit on my own again.  So 'technically', when all was told, I paid a little over a thousand.  But while I was paying for my divorce, I lived with my Mother and Dad rent-free (although I helped with the utilities).  So the financial burden was not much.  I do realize I'm in the lucky minority.  Which is why I haven't done it since.  I've had two requests from relationships I've had in the past, and said 'hell no'.  One of them I even told them as much going into the relationship, but she still asked.  The 'M' word is a big no-no around me.

Marriage is an institution. Like prison.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Scott, don't you know it's the third law of TNF that each thread cannot last more than two pages without devolving into thread drift?

Come on!  Get with the program!

;D

I never knew what thread count meant on my sheets. Is more better?

We are this far O/T, might as well go all the way:

Few pics from our first ever Gatsby Picnic  :)   Unfortunately I didn't take as many as I should have and the ones I did, I wasn't paying too much attention to the quality so many were way under or over exposed.

Nice pics, William.  I really thought the games were a great touch.  I'd not played badminton or croquet in ages.  I really can't wait for the next one.
